So now that the chassis is done, and the motor in, I can start wrapping this up.

First I started making room for a battery. Found that the rollcage idea was nice, but a truckbed looked much, much better.

Nice job. I wish I had more money to put in to my Traxxas Slash. It's either diecast, or this or that... I just need to get a battery for it. Been long enough the battery is toast from sitting around.

Thank you for the kind coments. Here is a better video. This time I could run a battery dry without any mishap.

Yes, this hobby does cost money. I think I have around $500 in this one.
Replacement battery is not that expensive, but if the car takes them, I'd recommend switching to LiPo. I have a small and lightweight 1300 mAh 3S LiPo in this one, and it runs for 90 minutes on a single charge. Battery cost me $20

Yea. LiPo would probably be the next one I get it when I get around to it. Battery life is always a bummer though. Not sure on length of charge for the LiPo but the stock battery gets, if you're lucky, like 15 mins.

Nice job on the built though. Certainly looks like some fun!

On my slow, 13T Crawler motor I get 4,5 hours on a 2700 mAh 3 cell LiPo. About 90 minutes on a 1300 mAh. Charging takes a while. About 2 hours for a full charge

I will take the ZIL out for another drive today.
Had some more details done. Driver and interior are about done.

I decided to go with a truckbed, and fabricated some aluminum sidewalls for that. Today I painted on a sall STP logo, which can then be seen in the pictures I will likely make today. This project is almost wrapped up.
