Lionel just announced a new line of non-winning Raced Versions, starting with Noah Gragson’s Charlotte Roval car.

Will be interesting to see what they do with this 'series' of cars. Wonder how many Sr./Jr. cars we end up seeing through this.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what cars they produce. I have always liked raced versions because the cars tell a story.

They will probably produce a good number of them over the course of the next several years. Then they'll probably do a lot of Gordon and Elliott cars. I can't think of any off the top of my head that would be good to produce.

I'm excited for the Gragson car. While I watched the race I had hoped he would win for a raced win version but I'll take a new series to get it now. I hope it comes with rain tread tires. I never even thought of the series being historical. I assumed it would just be new cars going forward. I guess that's one way to get some more money from those that have slowed in collecting new cars. They could offer a few Dodges from the early 2000s and make a million bucks just from the users of this site! :hilariou:

I'm not too optimistic on these. I mean who wants a "loser" diecast? As a Gordon/Chase guy, I can't think of a single car I would even want. I'm not spending money on a reminder of that time he got screwed over or came up short.

I would imagine most of the iconic "wreckers" that people would be interested in would be so damaged they'd be unmake-able. Carl Edwards 2009 Talladega comes to mind.

They start the line with one of the most unlikeable drivers in the Xfinity Series. I'd be down if they did 1:64 sets like Brandon Jones, Hamlin and Chastain from Darlington. Or classic memorable finishes. I can't see many people wanting these though.

They made Sr.'s roll over car work and be pretty popular. I could see some working but might be a little hard on some of them when the damage was too much. I think like Craven and Busch at Darlington with their finish for instance. But those cars were pretty tore up. I dont know the cost of a new casting/mold is worth the return. Unless they mark it up, but then less will want to buy it. Be interesting to see what they might be thinking.

I wish they would work on making there product better then some other kind of cars series , What the hell happen to there classic cars! can't wait tell University of Die cast start making cars again. Am sick of getting nothing more then a glorified Winner Circle car I know someone will say don't buy them and the funny thang is I have stop buying them as much as I normally do . But I still love the sport and the hobby just would like more for my money prices haven't gone down and Quality gone way down .

I get the feeling we are going to see a lot of the same cars that have already been produced. I keep holding out hope for a 1994 Bill Elliott Budweiser Southern 500 win.

MOPARBOB, I've had a lot going on the last couple of years... plus the wife isn't overly impressed with 2 storage units worth of diecast... have to thin it down some I suppose. But, life has slowed down a little, so time to come around again I suppose :)

There is definite potential here. Guess we'll see if its taken or squandered like everything else Lionel touches.

The only two I can think of that I'd want is Petty/Pearson 1976 Daytona finishing cars. Maybe with a nice diorama display to put them on....I know, we're talking about $500 for all that....it could make a cool display though.
