What is the general consensus around here on bank cars? Specifically the black windowed ones. Do you guys have any, or avoid?

I am not a big fan at all of banks. But if I had to choose, I'd go with with the clear window variety.

I guess the selling point on banks in general were that that they had lower production numbers, not that that meant anything.

To each their own, though, I suppose.

I am not a fan. I have a few in the collection and they are clear window. Eventually I will upgrade them.

I am not fan of the black window banks myself. I have a couple of the clear window banks and when they are in cases, you really can't tell that they are banks. They look like a normal car (except for the slot at the base of the back window).

I do have some CW banks 2-3 Earnhardts I think, as they filled in a year I was looking for.
I stay away from black window banks,
though Plan B has some older ones at tempting prices.
I like looking in the windows

Never been a fan of black window banks. I have 2 clear window banks and I'm fine with them, basically the same as an older Club Car.

3BC3E611-B9DA-420D-AE11-62D5F7F2D552.jpeg I had a few extremely hard to find black window banks in the past. Sold them off but they were never my favorites. If I was to buy a bank the clear window version would be the only one I would pick up.

I usually avoid them, but I have picked up some occasionally. Some of the older diecasts, like Rudd’s Piedmont car or some of Earnhardt’s Wrangler diecasts can get pricey and if you look around, you can find the banks for a fraction of the price. I’ve done that a few times when I want a particular car but can’t justify the clear window price tag.

I try to avoid them. I do have a black window bank, Dale Earnhardt 3 Coke from 1998. I got it on clearance from a sports shop that sold some diecast at the end of the 2000 season.

I dont care for them either. I don't mind the Team Caliber banks as much, because they hide the coin slot part in the trunk instead of having it in the window like the Action cars
