Here is the Updated 2002 Nascar Busch Series 1:64 Guide.

I have found alot of Errors in Billy's list for most of the Busch Series from 2000 to 2004, Now I only collected the 2000 - 2003 years because of Nesquik and Scott Riggs. I decided to take some pictures and post a list of all the Busch Series Diecast That I have been able to find this year. I have posted which ones are Promotional Items, and Who made them. I have been keeping notes on which ones were made from different Companies: Action/Winners Circle/Team Caliber/Hot Wheels. Most will be updated if other versions are found, and help of other collectors of course. These list are subject to change. I will also note which ones are really hard to find and near darn impossible to find these days. (HTF = Hard To Find / VHTF = Very Hard To Find.) I will post back stories on certain Diecast as time permits.

    #02 - Hermie Sadler - Richmond Bakery / Racing Champions / Promo / VHTF

Bare with me on this one. This is the Normal one with the Food City Sticker over Cottonelle to represent what it looks like. This car ran at both Bristol races.

#9 Jeff Burton - Gain / Team Caliber / Promo
There was great debate on wether this one ran in 2001 or 2002. Pictures referenced placed this in 2002, now where as the promo's for Burton in 2001 was black window cars, the clear window cars from Team Caliber was 2002 releases.
#10 Scott Riggs - Nesquik / Racing Champions

    #12 Kerry Earnhardt - Bicycle / Racing Champions / Promo / VHTF
Now this car never ran during the 2002 season, but as Hot Tamales & Supercuts is on this car and given 2002 was the last year for the Chevy Flat nose, this would be place in 2002.

#25 Randy Tolsma - Marines / Hot Wheels / VHTF
Now this a Rare Gem to find in the wild. Team Rensi switched to Ford for the 2002 season. Hot Wheels decided to jump the gun and get some cars out early for the 2002 season, and from my investigation. Randy left the team as seasons end of 2001, Bobby Hamilton wasn't signed until Late December of 2001. Which put Hot Wheels in a odd place with Randy's 2001 Scheme plastered on a Ford in Production already, so it was released in 2002. Now, the only way you can find this one is if you look for the 2002 printed package, but also note the 2001 Chevy was also put on the 2002 card, so you really have to look at the diecast in the package to find the Ford version. There is actually 1 on eBay right now in a lot as I type this.

    #29 Kevin Harvick - Action E.T. / Winner's Circle
This car ran at Bristol in the Spring and is quiet famous due to Greg Biffle punting Harvick head first into the Trun 4 wall with 24 laps to go in the race. Harvick waiting for Biffle to open a can of ......you know what on Biffle. This car comes on the Standard WC blister pack
    [IMG]
    #29 Kevin Harvick - Sylvania / RCCA
This car ran at the Fall Bristol race. This is another car that alot people tend to forget what actually happened in the race. Harvick led 52 laps of this race and under caution at lap 208 he hit the "Kill Switch" which ended his day by accidental button pressing.

This one by far is likely going to be most pricest Diecast from this year to get. It was only released in 2002 in the 24 Canadain Exclusive pack. Most of these packs are online are ranging from 70 bucks to 90 bucks and higher.

#59 Stacy Compton - Kingsford / Racing Champions
This car ran for a majority of the season. Was released by RC on the normal blister packaging. This car is also another famous one from the season of 2002. During the spring Talladega race, the Kingsford Logo on the hood "peeled" off. This is the exact same race the Big Wreck took out 27 cars.
#60 Greg Biffle - Grainger / Team Caliber - Hot Wheels
This car ran for a majority of the season. Was released by TC/HW on the normal blister packaging. This is also another car that was talked about in 2002, with the Run in with Harvick, the Door slam with Todd Bodine, and the Crash that ended Jeff Purvis racing career.
    #66 Casey Mears - Phillips 66 / Racing Champions

After doing some research, The Glen was never on the schedule in 2002 for the Busch Series. in 2002 The 87 was driven by Joe, David Reutimann, & Tim Fedewa. Dale Jr never Drove this car. Racing Champions released this car without a name printed on the Name rail in 2002. There was only 1 release of this #87 car in 2002.

#92 Todd Bodine - Excedrin / Hot Wheels / Promo
This car ran a majority of the season. This is another one that was famous from the 2002 season of Busch. It seems like everyone of these stories involves Greg Biffle, On the last lap at Kentucky Speedway, Todd and Greg were beating and banging on each other with Biffle finishing 2nd backwards across the finish line.
#93 Bill Huff - Mike's Famous Harley Davidson / Racing Champions / Promo / VHTF
Please note this one is a Custom of the exact Promo Piece. This is likely another Promo that will rarely ever pop up on eBay, and will likely go for big bucks to collectors. This car tried to Qualify for the Fall Dover race, and ended up not making the field. this is yet another reason this car is so sought after, because to my knowledge this is the only car made by RC that was a DNQ for the race.
    #99 Michael Waltrip - Aaron's / Racing Champions / Promo Also
This car ran for a majority of the season. Was released by RC on the normal blister packaging. There is also a Promo Version Blister pack. Also another famous car from the 2002 busch series, during the first few laps of the spring Texas race, someone started a big wreck into turn 1 and Mikey was almost thru the wreck until Lyndon Amick slid down into him and flipped him over onto the roof. it took Mikey along time to get out of the car due to him being the "Shaq" of NASCAR drivers back then, and the cockpits were really tight.
