In terms of the re-arranging the schedule I could care less what track is when except the Daytona 500.. some race days will be hot , some will be cold ... I'll still find a way to get to one or two races... are there a couple tracks I would like to see gone and a couple I would like to see added ? sure... when your racing 38 weeks a year there are going to be a couple duds.. just like any other racing series or stick and ball sports have there dud races/games

Mix it up/keep them it same ... new tracks/same tracks .. road or oval course I will still be a fan and watch

Imagine Martinsville or Bristol as the last race of the regular season? There was be so much beating and banging, tempers would be insanely high

In all fairness, this is a head scratcher even for me and I've defended NASCAR and all its changes lol. Yes some people will complain (mostly just to complain), but making IMS the final regular sesason race seems like a last ditch effort to bring some excitment to a (typcially) boring ra

I think that's exactly what it is.. a last ditch effort.. I get the feeling that NASCAR has given IMS a chance to re-ignite fan interest and provide a better race based on its supposed new spot on the 2018 schedule for the remainder of the 5 year contract with its current tracks ..if this doesn't change it I think we will see IMS gone from the schedule

..I seem to recall that it was the sanctioning body that had a mammoth raging hard on to go there in the first place and the the open wheeler's and the track owners that needed convincing..

..agreed that it is a last ditch effort, but they have nobody to blame but themselves..

..a deaf, dumb and blind man could have told anyone back then the racing was going terrible, if it was not for the name and the history of the place there would be no racing there at all. It has to be the worst track on the planet to go live and watch a race..

..I went there in 2009 (and was happy to go, and was then utterly disappointed) and had seats right across from gasoline alley exit. I sat next to a guy who had been going there since the early 70's, with the same seats, who said they were the best in the house!?

..I watched the race on the big screen, but for the pit stops, seeing the cars come out of 4, go into 1, come out of 2. Complete waste of time and money to watch a race there live.. *maybe if they get rid of the pagoda, the seats and suits on the inside of the track, where a fan could then see more of the track, then maybe..

..best part of being there was the garage walk, the vendors outside the track, the museum, the sounds and the smell of racing gas..

    ..?..

..I think that would fall under the sanctioning bodies constant manipulation of the rules to 'gimmick' up the racing which has lost the fans interest. The only (best) way to 'get fan interest' back for the yard, is to race the road course, other than that I wouldn't bother to watch it at all..

..granted it is a terrible track to begin with for racing (but for the road circuit) but the "better racing" needs to come from the set of rules that needs to stop being messed with to artificially manipulate the racing, and get back to basics..

    ..gimmicks don't work..

..race fans want racing, not a dog and pony show..

The Indy race needed SOMETHING / hype to add attendance, the racing will still suck.
    Richmond move is good.
Vegas ?? it is in the Desert, but gets racing back to the West, hope its at night.
But, I'll still go to Texas. but not in the Fall,
its back to Opening Day in duck blind for me. :thumbsup1:

Still wish Atlanta is later in the spring. Late March is better but the teams do not want to travel to the otherside of the country after spending 2 weeks in Daytona. I hope the West Coast swing gets broken up as well.
