TNA World Champion Arrested

TNA champion Kurt Angle was arrested this morning after a female TNA star he was involved with (and I believe was sharing a home with), who had taken out an active order of protection against him spotted Angle allegedly following her while she was at a Starbucks today.

According to a source at the Robinson Township, PA police department, Angle was pulled over after the woman he allegedly stalked called police. The TNA champion was found carrying "a capped syringe" and "vials of (Human Growth Hormone) Hygetropin" in his car", according to the source. Angle claimed he had a valid prescription for the HGH.

Angle has been charged with driving with a suspended license (stemming from his refusal to take a breathalyzer test during his 2007 DUI arrest, which was an automatic suspension), illegal possession of the HGH, breaking an order of protection and harassment. He is currently awaiting arraignment.

The identity of the female star is being kept confidential, although it should be easy to figure it out as he's mentioned her publicly in media appearances in the past, giving the impression they were no longer together. The woman in question is not Kurt's ex-wife Karen Angle.

I am told the Pittsburgh media will likely go with the story tonight on their evening newscasts.
Angle is scheduled to main event tomorrow's TNA Hard Justice PPV against Matt Morgan and Sting.

What a tangled web we weave. A Clarion University of Pa, alumni, (my wife's college) and an Olympic Gold Medalist. He tried sports anchoring at a local Pittsburgh TV station after his Greco Roman wrestling career was over, but he was beyond terrible.
Then I believe he started television wrestling.

Right now plans are for Angle to make the PPV appearance. I would expect him to drop the belt though. It will be even more interesting to see how this affects his political power within the company going forward.

KTLA is reporting that the female that Kurt Angle was arrested in conjunction with today was Trenesh Biggers, aka TNA Rhaka Khan. The story also stated that Biggers, who told police that Angle had previously abused her, had filed a protection from abuse order against him that was served earlier on Saturday morning.

The story added that, "Angle told police that he wasn't stalking Biggers, claiming he was looking for a hotel where he could stay since he was barred from his home where Biggers also resides."
