Mr. Kennedy released from WWE World Wrestling Entertainment

World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of Raw Superstar Mr. Kennedy (Ken Kennedy) as of today, May, 29 2009. WWE wishes Ken the best in all future endeavors.

As we reported earlier, Mr. Kennedy was officially released from WWE today. This is coming as a shock to many. Kennedy had returned to RAW on Monday after rehabbing from a badly injured shoulder. Kennedy ended up injuring his wrist after taking a RKO from Randy Orton.

It is being reported that Randy Orton & Kennedy had words backstage after RAW went off the air, it wasn't heated, but that Orton told him he had to be careful out there so he wouldn't injure anyone in the ring. There wasn't any other complaints backstage.

A possibility of a reason why Kennedy was released was the pull that Orton has with Vince McMahon. The word is that McMahon was not happy with Kennedy's performance on RAW. Another possibility is that because he is injury prone, and WWE wouldn't be able to capitalize on their work on his character.

kennedy is a great wrestler, amazing mic skills, but is just too injury prone. he did just come back from another injury a few weeks ago.

Kennedy almost dropped Orton on his head in the match and Orton was visibly upset punching the mat in frustration. He snapped a quick RKO on Kennedy during the closing of the match and Kennedy landed awkwardly on his wrist. He may have slightly sprained it but is said to be 100% healthy. He was released due to Orton complaining to Vince about his carelessness in the ring. That just shows how much pull Orton has now since he was also instrumental in getting Manu released because he complained to Vince of the big Somoan's work ethic and attitude. I hate to see Kennedy go as I enjoyed him when he was healthy. Unless he really makes a strong run in TNA or returns to WWE down the line and has success he may go down in history as the guy that did the least with the most. WWE had high hopes for Kennedy as a performer and they wanted him to get over as a star. They never would have planned to book him into a storyline where he would have been revealed to be Vince McMahon's illegitimate son and eventual McMahon family member if they didn't intend for him to get over. His Wellness suspension killed that. They never would have had Kennedy go over at Wrestlemania 23 in the Money in the Bank match if they didn't plan WWE title run for him on the Smackdown brand. Injuries curtailed that. They never would have showcased him in the Behind Enemy Lines film if they didn't have faith in him. In the end, whether it was bad luck or bad karma for some of the things Kennedy said publicly, things never worked out and never clicked.

Those ads were filmed for USA prior to his release as WWE was again pushing him leading up to his return last week.

He has a 90 Day no Compete clause but I would say TNA will probably be his destination. Im hoping befor then WWE comes to its senses though and resigns him. Why they cant move him back to Smackdown or ECW away from Orton I dunno. Someone towards the front row had a bring back Kennedy sign on Raw tonight. How they got that in I dunno, though I only saw it once.
