Question Winners Circle Distribution

OK so I wanted to make a post about the recent WC Distribution system .

From what I have seen it appears that WC has stepped it up in 2010 ! I mean if we look back to early 2004-2009 the distribution wasnt really that great . It would take anywhere from 2-3 WEEKS before we would see the newest cars show up here on the East Coast once they appeared on EBAY out in California . And im not sure why it even took that long . I mean sure we used to have to wait 2-3 weeks for the cars .... and within that time frame i remember folks here on the site ( not sure if any of them members still post here ) say that they couldnt find the NEW cars in their areas for the longest time . Well i tell ya what i think , I think that WC has finally figured out a way to work it out to where the cars show up across the country in about a weeks time . Granted that not ALL stores will get them in the same day ... and you probably wont if you still have cars from the previous mix hangin around. BUT let me tell you folks ... do NOT think for one second that Walmart, Target , and Kmart's distribution centers havent gotten in these 2010 1/24,1/64,and haulers yet . Friends THEY HAVE ! The only problem i have seen lately is with the stores delaying the arrival of them to your local store in town . Why do they do it ? Who knows . All i can say is that when we first saw a post from a member here on i think it was Tuesday or Wednesday about these new 2010 1/24's showing up on EBAY out in California granted it was everyones favorite seller ( RandyReay ) it only took about 3 days before i found them today in my local Walmart . Not every Walmart in my city had them yet , but one of them did . And that was the store that had already done their reset . BUT going back to my original thoughts here .... i think that WC has finally come to the realization that they now know what strategy it is going to take this year to get these cars out in stores ASAP across the country . I am also really amazed that they dont already have out a 4 sided display pallet with the new haulers and cars on it like they have done in past years . Again this might be another new idea coming from the guru's at WC to make the 2010's EARLY and put them out in January , rather than keeping the fans on their feet for 2 months looking for their drivers NEW scheme in 1/24 or 1/64 .

So with all this being said .... i ask you ALL .... what do "YOU" think about the current set-up of the new WC distribution scenario ??????

Thanks...... and I look forward to getting your thoughts on this matter ! It will be interesting for sure

Give it till Daytona is over then we won't see anything for months. Same ole same ole tricks in my opinion. The distribution is a joke.

I haven't been around too much but the one thing I notice is that instead of shipping one Walmart 2-4 cases of a 1/64 series, they shipped the majority of Wal Marts in my area 1 case of the new 1/64 instead (at least so far). I think this is a good change. However, it may be due to the fact they rose the price on 1/64 so it changed inventory levels or something.

As for timing, I don't think WC has much control of how Wal Mart distributes these and when each store puts them out. I mean, these are such a minimal fraction of the percent of toys sold by Wal Mart, I doubt they would give these much thought.

As for Target, Toys R Us, K Mart and even Wal Mart (besides the new 1/64), they haven't been getting things in consistently. My guess is that there isn't enough stock to give to each store......which can get annoying finding them.

MA does not tell Wal-Mart, Target, TRU etc etc how many cases they can or can't order. Wal-Mart store managers place those orders and order what they think they can sell. Hence they order 20-30 cases of Hot Wheels compared to 1 WC. The biggest joke of the distribution is the fact that every case if the same and contains 5-10 Jr. cars and the rest are the same ole same ole drivers. These stupid Chase cars are not enough to entice companies to buy more cases. They can't sell the chase cars at any larger of a profit then the others. Hot Wheels does so much with product sales, mystery cars and the T-Hunts that even thought profits don't just jump for retailers on those they fly off the shelves.

I agree with Chris on this one. However, I was impressed with how early these cars came out.

That's because your store managers are not ordering the cars. If they didn't sell them well in the past they probably replaced them with a toy that does sell.

I have been to all of the Wal-Marts & Targets around in Wisconsin. I still see at all of Targets the Daytona 1/64's from Hendrick, Mainly Jr., but still the rest. Also, the Wal-Marts have all of the Helmet Series with Jr., along with the Kahne and Stewart from still 2008. Very sad to see around here!!!

at WalMart the toy dept manager does not order WC items.
I have had this verified at 3 locations, all miles apart in East Texas
The items are sent in to the stores at random, from the distribution centers.
Thus WC items are not a priority.
Just Poor product execution on the part of M/A to drive sales, and satisfy customers.
