I've Re-Done My Entire Shop!

A few weeks ago I made the decision to go from 4 spaces at the Mini Mall to 3 spaces. This lowered my rental cost and allowed me to arrange everything in my shop in a way that I think looks better. It also puts all items behind the counter that any sticky fingers might be tempted to walk away with. Now people have to actually ask if they want to see a selection of base/inserts from a particular player rather than having wild unwatched children destroying my 3,200 count boxes and mixing everything up. I was worried that it might hurt my sales of these cards, which are usually quite good. However the past two weeks I have had several people ask to see all my cards of certain players which have resulted in just as many sales and much less aggravation for me. My space is now 36' long and 10' deep. I have two walls of McFarlanes, one wall of autographs, and a growing section of my specialty framed autographed displays. I am very happy with the change. What do you guys think? I'm always looking for suggestions to improve things. :)

Nice clean place. Reminds me of my old die-cast shop. It was in a co-op type of place like that. Ahh the memories. Glad it's working out well for you. Saw some McFarlanes I would love to have there!

Chad , I know that your specialty is action figures and trading cards , but have you ever thought about selling die-casts ??

I did sell die-cast up until 2007. The market for it around here is terrible. I just had stuff sitting around with very little movement, so it all went to eBay. There is only one die cast shop left. There used to be about 5 in the area. The one that is still in business is about 30-40 miles east. He gets everything as he is an authorized MA dealer. He sells lots of apparel also. Everyone complains about his prices but they still buy from him. I don't even have anyone ask me about die-cast these days. Kinda sad. I always enjoyed the new cars with their paint schemes. Oh, the good 'ol days........

Yes! That's the one. He's been in business for years.

We usually go by there every time we go to Nashville. He does have a huge selection but his prices are pretty steep.
