Default The First $2,000 Pack of Cards.....

Razor Entertainment, the makers of WSOP cards and the recent Razor Celebrity Cut Signature Edition, has revealed at the National Sports Collector's Convention in Chicago a product that redefines "high-end". Razor Cut Signature Oval Office Edition contains cut autographs from each U.S. president, including some dual signature cards. Each card comes in a BGS holder to ensure authenticity. The price-tag? A mere $2,000 per pack! If the Oval Office Edition follows the same format as the regular Razor Cut Signature product, each pack will contain one cut signature.

This is the product that just yielded the George Washington/Abe Lincoln dual autograph card. That video has been all over the place including this site. I wonder what Razor will do next? They have been very aggressive and innovative in the industry over the last year.

While the concept is cool it also kind of lousy too. The whole High end deal is one of the MAJOR reason I quit collecting NBA basketball cards after 10 years and 71,000 different cards. It got to the point where it was no longer fun to do anymore-it's not fun dropping the price of a cheap used car on a pack of cards. It's even less fun when you spend a few hundred dollars on a pack and get players you don't even like!

On the other hand, getting that signature(s) would be pretty darn amazing, and probably the highlight of somebody's life, for sure. Heck it would have been the highlight of my life if it was me.

The problem with a $2000 pack of cards is that you eliminate everyday collectors. How many of those packs are actually worth that? You might as well just crack them open and sell the cards individually at that price point. Is everyone who pays that going to get their money's worth? I'm not going to drop two grand if I could possibly get some scrub's autograph!! What's the point?

They've grown up and are taking bailouts from the government.

They are listening to their Ipods as they skate down the street to their house where they go up to their rooms and play one of their 12 video game systems. Kids today have more choices. Parents don't encourage kids to be involved as much in sports as in the past. Most of them figure if the kid is in their room and out of their hair, it's a good thing. The hobby is for 20 somethings and older now. It's sad but true.
