UD MMA Set Due Out in September

For all of you Mixed Martial Arts fans, Upper Deck has announced the release of Upper Deck MMA: The Art of Fighting. This card set will feature 2 autographs per 24 pack Hobby box. Due out in September, UD expects big sales and have announced that they have the biggest names in the MMA world under autograph deals for this product. It spans several different fight leagues including the most popular organization in the USA, the UFC. Before you ask, Geebi, I will be carrying this product at my shop. :top:

Awesome, only way I will buy any is if The Iceman has an auto in there. Not really but I want his if it's in there.

That would definately be nice! I'm hoping they have some of the older "Legends" from the early days of UFC like Ken Shamrock and Royce Gracie. When I see a checklist, I'll let you know.

Well, I did some research as any good shop owner would do, and right now a few big names on the autograph checklist are: Marc Coleman, Randy Couture, Don Frye, Royce Gracie, Matt Hughes, Keith Jardine, Chuck Lidell, Tito Ortiz, Dan Severn, Ken Shamrock, Wonderlei Silva, and many more ! This product is shaping up to be pretty solid. If UD can actually get all those guys to sign, this one will be hot! It also contains nickname autographs called "Also Known As....." with "The Iceman" Chuck Lidell, "The Natural" Randy Couture, Dan "The Beast" Severn, and more as well as Dual Autographs of Famous Grudge Matches like: Gracie/Shamrock and Gracie/Severn. It is due out in mid October not September as I previously reported. It has a 100 card base set with gold parallels that are serial numbered and the 2 autographs per 24 pack hobby box.

I had planned on having this product on my shelf this weekend but it has been delayed by Upper Deck until mid December! I think I may know why............see my other thread about Topps and the UFC for details.

After again delaying this product until February, UD has now cancelled the product all together. With Topps reaching an exclusive deal with the UFC, it pulled the rug out from under UD and really limited the well known fighters that they could have used.
