[Updated] Embed YouTube and other videos

How do I embed a video here?

Videos from your hard drive (if they are small) can be attached to threads. If you find them on the web you can link them here. What file extension or site were you specifally asking about adding videos from?

Here is the site where I wanted to load the video from. It is the video about the G-Scale trains. They belong to a PT Cruiser club friend of mine and thought the guys might think they were cool.

I copied the embed code, and then when I pasted it, it just showed up as the code. At least when I previewed the post. If I would have went ahead and continued to post it, would it have embedded it?

I checked it out and the code uses a shockwave flash player. There's no way to embed that type of video at this time. You can always link to it for now.

Does the same hold true for YouTube? I've been trying to figure out how to embed videos off Youtube into this style of forum for more then a year and it's left me stumped. I know it's possible-I've seen it done-but I can't figure it out. I've got almost 50 videos on Youtube and would like to share from time to time.

Like Ken, though, all I see is the coding. I've tried with both [ and < style tags as well.

No one has asked until now! I found what we needed for YouTube and added it. Now, on the advanced reply there is a button for YouTube. You stick your video code in there and it should embed into the post. If you have any problems let me know!

I can't wait ta try Youtube here. On the old site, everytime I tried ta embed a Youtube video, it would load and embed it twice.

OK, that didn't seem to work. What I doing wrong? Ken, if you get it, please educate me in how it works!
