RaceWeek THUNDER 10' - How to Play?

Welcome to RaceWeek THUNDER 10'

This year's game revolves around picking drivers that affect the whole race weekend of an event.

There's no wildcard pick this year so you can't depend on luck alone!

RaceWeek THUNDER entrants will play for up to 130pts!

All votes and vote edits will need to be posted by 12pm of race day of each race weekend.

If you change your mind about picks just re-submit them! I take the newest of all votes when scoring. Just be sure to re-submit before 12pm on race day.

Any member that votes or edits their votes after 12pm on race day will not have their votes counted.

This years format is as follows...

"Last one to the Garage is a rotten egg" Pick- There's just no hope for some guys. They try and try again but just never break the Top 10...and sometimes the Top 20. Pick the full time driver that will finish the worst amongst the rest, the one who hopes to be the first one out of the track to begin a new week of hoping that maybe the next race will be their race! Players will earn points based on where their pick ends up in the final rundown. See Graph A

"Eat My Burnout" Pick- It's now the end of the race, one lap to go, is your driver leading? Who will be the highlight of the race? We made it to the end. The race winner is the highlight of every good race. Players will pick the full time driver they think will win the race and earn points based on where their pick ends up in the final rundown. See Graph B

"It's a Team Effort" Bonus Pick- There are mega teams and mini teams in NASCAR. They all have to work together to be a great team overall. The goal here is to pick the full time team that will have the most cars in the Top 10 at the end of the race. Points are rewarded for each car in the Top 10. For example, if you pick Hendrick Motorsports and Jeff Gordon finishes 5th and Mark Martin finishes 9th then you will get the combined 5th and 9th place points for a total of 8 points! See Graph C

"Every dog has it's Day" Bonus Pick- Most drivers get lucky once in awhile. It may be a good pit road call or the big one towards the end of a race. All full time drivers that didn't make the previous seasons Chase will be available to choose from. Players will earn points only if their pick finishes in the Top 10. See Graph C

The Chase.

The Chase is on during the final 10 races of the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season. The Top 12 Players will advance into the Chase for the RaceWeek Trophy.

Points will be reset to 5,000 and players will start the chase with an additional 10 bonus points for each win they have earned in the preceding 26 races.

Players who won a race during last years Prologue will start the chase with an additional 5 bonus points for each win if they make it into this years chase.

RollOver Votes.

Ever forget to vote? Hate that you missed those points? You're in luck because RollOver Votes are back! Your votes will be stored in a database from the very first vote you make this season and will only be updated when you submit new votes. Forget to vote and your votes will RollOver from the previous weeks votes! Votes will reset during the Chase so everyone MUST submit their votes at least once during the last 10 races to have a chance at earning points.

RaceWeek Gimme.

The 2009 fall race at Talledega sucked. So many good picks taken out at the end of the race and even a usual start and parker earning a Top 20! This is the kind of race that points are few and far between and you'd give anything for a do-over. Your wish has been granted! Did your week suck? Do you have a good point average? Do you have any "Gimme's" available? If you answered "yes" to all of those questions then you can replace those low points! Every player will start the season with one "RaceWeek Gimme". If you have a bad race and want to replace those low points with your average score then just select the option to use your gimme in the voting form for the next race. When the standings are updated your gimme will be used in place of last week points! Players that try to use more than the allotted one gimme will lose 10 points for each race they select to use the gimme.

RaceWeek Gimme Example: Lets say you average 79 points (rounded up from 78.7) each week but you only earned 32 this week. When you vote next week just select the option for a gimme and when points are updated after the next race, the previous weeks total will be updated to reflect the 79 points replacement from the original 32.

When I Win...YOU Win.

I've never been the best player at my own game but I thrive for the challenge. Each week the top scores for the week will be posted in the race thread. If by chance I get the highest score of everyone that week I will give a 5 point bonus to the rest of the players added onto the following weeks score. Can YOU beat me?

im confused my graph A, if i pick the pole winner why do i get only 1 point, and if my driver wins why do i get 1 point not 43?

yeah, i'm a little confused as well but that isn't hard to do now a days.

It'll be much easier to score and I believe easier for you guys to figure up your score before it's posted once we get going.

its like this

1. pick a guy for qualifying, ex- Mark Martin gets the pole = 43 points; or if you pick Paul Menard, he quailifies 28th = 16 points

2. pick the guy you think will be put of the race first (DNF). ex- you pick Dave Blaney as the first car out(finishes 43rd), you get 43 points; or if you pick Marcos Ambros and he finishes 13th, you get 13 points

3. race winner, this is just like the pole points. you pick Tony stewart and he wins, you get 43 points; and if you picked casey mears and he finishes 37th, you get 7 points

4. bonus- you can pick any driver that was not in the 2009 chase and if he finishes in the top 10, you get bonus points. ex- you pick Truex and he finishes 5th, you get 5 points; you pick Kyle busch and he finishes 3rd, you get 7 points.



so in total you can win 139 points

example

Matt Kenseth wins the pole (43 points) Wins the race (43 points) plus since he was not in the 09 chase (10 point bonus for 1st) and Kevin Conway DNF'd (43 points) = 139 points

or say Jeff Gordon qualifys 12th (32 points) Carl Edwards finishes 15th (29 points) **no bonus given because he was in the 09 chase and out side the top 10** and Elliot sadler finishes 31st (31 points) total 92 points
