Kurt Busch fails pre-race tech inspection

Just saw Kurt Buschs car had failed pre-rece tech inspection for New Hampshire, but after making adjustments to the rear end housing angle, they were allowed to start the race in their qualifying position.

Nothing against Kurt Busch, but shouldn't he start at the rear of the field for something like that??

Talking to Steve Addington sounds like he expects a penalty from NASCAR next week. A points penalty could really hurt the 22 teams chances of a championship run.

well, expect something tuesday, he will fall back in the points, he really needs a win at this point.

if he started from the rear then that should of been it but if there expecting bad news on tuesday then so be it mind you when mike helton goes to talk to penske rather than the other way round id be surprise if this is not the end of the matter

They beat and bang on cars all the time to get them through the inspection live, and get them to fit the templates. All they had to do was adjust the trackbar and slide the housing back over. Plus with their horrible finish, I hope there won't be anymore penalty but we know they will.

umm hate to say this as a Kurt Busch fan since the truck days...but the stuffing inside his helmet today threw out ANY chances he had in the chase...knew as soon as he bleeped on the pre-race he was out to lunch...I'm just impressed he didn't tank it into the wall..finished a lap down much as I anticipated...and the announcers even said the amount of skew wasn't enough to change the characteristics or handling but when Kurt was faced with adversity it was OVER...sucks but that's exactly what Harvick tried to accomplish last week at Chicagoland with short pitting him...the major achilles heel of the Busch boys, their temper.

Sounds like they've been having some issues passing inspection prior to this weekend. I didn't hear Addington say that they expect bad news this week, I thought that he said that they need to get this all worked out this week so it doesn't happen in the future. I doubt that there will be any points taken away from the #22.
