For me i really enjoy playing Nascar Thunder 2003,Nascar Thunder 2004,Nascar 06 and Nascar 07 the most.

The Nascar thunder games from 2003 and 2004 had the best and most paint schemes in my opinion

NASCAR Thunder 04 was mine. EA had the career mode figured out in 03 and improved on it in 04. I loved being able to build and overhaul equipment and have to run old equipment in the meantime just like in a real career.

In all seriousness, my favorite was NASCAR Racing 2 for PC. Painting was easy, modding was easy, and the game was just a whole lot of fun.

NASCAR Racing 2002 season is great. NASCAR 2005: Chase for the Cup (Gamecube) is second and NASCAR Heat NAPA Demo for my PC was the game I played when I first got into NASCAR so that's up there too. The only other NASCAR game I have is NASCAR 2000 for N64 and I'm sorry but that game sucked.

I remember playing Nascar 98 as a kid when it first came out. Still today my favorite and i think best intro

My favorites are both on the original Playstation- for serious racing, NASCAR 96 is the best.. This was, I believe, the only NASCAR game Papyrus released on a console before releasing NASCAR 2003 for the computer, widely regarded as the best, although I have never played it.

For fun...NASCAR Rumble. It's bizarre, but it's fun. The narration track can get annoying after a time, though. If there was a wider variety of sayings, it might not...but there's a very limited track to choose from.
