I mean look at how many of the NBC/Universal networks are airing events. It's the largest event ever on television plus the live coverage on the internet. You're also sadly mistaken if you think any sport/television network doesn't put $$$ before what the public wants.

I never once said that other networks or people don't put $$ ahead of anything else. That wasn't my point at all. My point was that they were not prepared for it and they are doing an aweful job of reacting to it. JMO though.

I watch it all live on my computer anyway. I connected my computer to a London server and watch it live on BBC if I want to :-) Hook up the computer to my TV, and I am set.

Yeah, because this comment was so needed for this thread. You're real intelligent.

I was merely making the comment that everyone puts $$$ over public wants. You are entitled to your opinion on them doing an awful job I'm not here to defend NBC. I was just trying to shed some light on what was all taken into consideration with airing the Olympics. I think if more people knew what it took to pull this off they would be a little more understanding to things. No matter what you can't prepare for everything when doing something of this magnitude.

They had the 2008 Olympics to prepare for this one. NBC knew then that the internet and other media would have the results before the taped events were shown in prime time. This is nothing new for them.

They had 4 years since the last one to pull it off. NBC knew the tape delay got lots of complaints in 08. People are now on the net more and twitter is now here. Anyone could have seen this coming. You are entitled to your opinion to and I don't see you as defending them. I just see it as your opinion.

They may have gotten complaints but more people are watching the Olympics than ever before on TV. People are on the net more which is why NBC has them live on there. They have them live on the net if you so choose to watch there and taped delayed on TV for those like myself that like to watch on there. It seems to me that they have covered most of the bases that they could. Tape delayed is just the way of life for these things when the games are overseas as well.
