Driver(s): Jeff Gordon,Jimmie Johnson,Kasey KahnePhoto Albums | Classified Ads Create a Transaction View Previous Transactions Leave Feedback | Bryan Clauson takes over for Darland in #2B car Reigning National Midget Driver of the Year Bryan Clauson announced through his Web site on Saturday that he will be driving the RWB Motorsports #2B car during the 2010 USAC National Sprint Car Series campaign, starting with the season-opening races at East Bay Speedway in Florida on February 8-10. Clauson takes over the ride from Dave Darland, who piloted the car to four wins and a third-place finish in the 2009 USAC National Sprint Car Series season. “I am really excited to get this oppurtunity to work with Scott Benic and the whole RWB Motorsports Team,” Clauson said in a statement on his Web site. “The 2B is an icon on the USAC trail and getting to drive it is an honor and I am looking forward to the 2010 season. I cannot wait for Florida to get here and we can get started." Clauson had two wins last season in USAC National Sprint competition while finishing seventh in points, with victories at Bloomington during Indiana Sprint Week and a preliminary night victory at the Oval Nationals. He also finished a eighth in the USAC National Midget Series, earning wins in big races including the Belleville Nationals and Turkey Night. In other recent sprint car news: - Former URC sprint car champion Sean Michael is returning to the track – this time as a crew chief. As he continues to recover from a serious knee injury suffered in a crash last year, he will replacing the retiring Todd Rittenhouse on the team of his brother, six-time URC champion Curt Michael. “I’ve always been involved with prepping my race cars, but while rebuilding the #27 during my recuperation, I realized that I enjoyed working on the cars almost as much as driving them,” said Sean Michael in a press release. “Curt and I have raced together and worked together and I look forward to doing so again. We’re both grateful to Bill for giving us the opportunity.” - Daron Clayton is looking for a ride. The 2009 All-Star Circuit of Champions Rookie of the Year and former Knoxville Nationals Rookie of the Year posted on the Hoseheads.com message board that he is in search of a ride for the 2010 season. He worked on his Dad's cars when we were young and I worked on a friends. He went on the road w/a local guy and parleyed that into a head wrench job on a WoO team, and eventually into ownership of several cars w/high dollar talent behind the wheel. It feels good to see another local successful at the racing game!
