Default Jones’ quarter-max® racing to be sponsored by elite motorsports in 2010

JONES? QUARTER-MAX® RACING TO BE SPONSORED BY ELITE MOTORSPORTS IN 2010
Written by Lisa Collier Wednesday, 09 December 2009 14:08

Rickie Jones and the previously self-sponsored Quarter-Max® Racing Team will be flying new colors in 2010 as Elite Motorsports steps on board as the primary sponsor. Elite Motorsports is the leader in sales of race transporters, new and used race cars, and equipment, as well as an RJ Race Cars dealer.

Co-owner of Quarter-Max® Racing, Monte Bailey, owner of Bailey Trucking and Bailey Logistics, will also be on board again for the 2010 season. “The Quarter-Max® Racing team should have ample power to perform at the next level of NHRA Pro Stock,” says Bailey.

To accent the new sponsorship, Jones will be debuting a 2010 Pontiac GXP. The car will be powered by none other than Elite Performance, headed by engine builder Jimmy Oliver. Elite Motorsports has just launched this engine program and along with it the option for ride and drive operations.

“Elite Performance is designed to enable drivers to perform at the top of their game with as little or as much effort on their part as they desire,” explains Richard Freeman of Elite Motorsports. “Engines are available for lease or sell as are the ride and drive programs. The ease of our ride and drive allows drivers to have a top notch program at their fingertips. This year, we will be providing ride and drive programs to Marty Robertson of MAALT Transport and Keith Satterfield. These drivers will be competing in Mountain Motor Pro Stock events. We’ve been placing successful programs for years and are excited to open this up, along with our new engine program, in NHRA Pro Stock. For our engine program, we’ve just built a brand new engine shop with state-of-the-art equipment to meet the competitive challenges of Pro Stock racing today.

“We’re also very excited to sponsor Rickie Jones in 2010 and supply him with Elite Performance power. Rickie is a talented driver and a great representative of the sport. We look forward to working with him and furthering Elite Performance this year.”

Rickie Jones, although one of the youngest drivers in the class, has quickly proven himself to be one of the most capable. In only his second year of NHRA Pro Stock racing, Jones had three semi-finals finishes and scored a final round appearance, placing 10th in 2009 NHRA Full Throttle points standings. He was also number one in reaction times among Pro Stock drivers in 2009. It’s no wonder, then, that companies such as Elite Motorsports have taken notice.

“We’re very excited to take this step with Elite Motorsports,” stated Rick Jones, owner of Quarter-Max® and RJ Race Cars. “As a dealer for RJ Race Cars, Richard and his team do well in moving our inventory. I think we will work well together and open up a lot of opportunities for Elite Motorsports and RJ Race Cars.

“Rickie has proven that he’s one of the best drivers out there, and I know we have a great team. We’re ready to take it to the next level of competition. We really want that win in 2010.”

The Elite Motorsports GXP will debut at the 50th Annual Kragen O’Reilly NHRA Winternationals.

“I’m excited to be behind the wheel of the Elite Motorsports GXP,” said driver Rickie Jones. “I know that Jimmy builds good horsepower and has a lot of proven knowledge and experience. Elite Performance is no doubt a good fit for our team. All of this is even more exciting because we get to debut at the 50th anniversary of the Winternationals. That will be a great moment for our team in a number of ways and something we all look forward to.”

Jones’ Quarter-Max Racing to be sponsored by Elite Motorsports in 2010

Rickie Jones' Quarter-Max Racing team will be flying the colors of Elite Motorsports in 2010 as the seller of race transporters, new and used race cars, and equipment steps onboard as the primary sponsor. Elite Motorsports also is an RJ Race Cars dealer.
“The Quarter-Max Racing team should have ample power to perform at the next level of NHRA Pro Stock,” said Monte Bailey, owner of Bailey Trucking and Bailey Logistics and co-owner of Quarter-Max Racing.

Jones will compete with a '10 Pontiac GXP powered by a new Elite Performance engine program, headed by engine builder Jimmy Oliver, that includes the option for ride and drive operations.
