CompetitionPlus.com has confirmed with multiple sources that Rahn Tobler, most recently crew chief for Cruz Pedregon, will be a part of Don Schumacher Racing in 2010.
The multi-time world championship tuner will become the crew chief of the Valvoline Funny Car driven by Jack Beckman. He replaces Johnny West.
Tobler most recently tuned Pedregon to the 2008 NHRA Full Throttle Funny Car Championship and also wrenched Shirley Muldowney to NHRA titles as well as an AHRA crown.
An official announcement is expected on Friday.

Love him or hate him.If it wasnt for DSR and JFR the fields would be far from full.

They both have good marketing departments and do whatever is necessary to secure sponsorship and keep them.

Just to clarify, not meaning anything bad by it, just drawing an inference. You are so correct. Take out each teams what? 4 cars each? The fields would be very very short.

JFR 4 funny cars,DSR three funny cars,3 top fuel,1 PSB rumor has it DSR is looking to expand.

I bet Force has a couple Top Fuel cars in the near future.

I dont know how to take Tobler goin to DSR. Cruz didnt have too great of a year with him so hopefully it wont be the case with Beckman next year. I wonder if its a sign that Cruz wont be racing next year though.
