NO crowd...

I have not been to a race in several years.
I am watching Nationwide qualifying and there is virtually NO ONE in the stands. I mean NO ONE!!! Some people standing around, and people in the infield, but I was shocked. Is this the norm?

its just NW qualifying, there is a big gap between qualifying and the race so most people dont care about that and spend the time outside the track at vendors and such, more will trickle in the longer it goes on before cup practice i would think.

personally when its race time in Dover i spend every available second at the track watching whats going on

i was surprised by the empty's at Michigan as well. There were also a bunch at Dover I dont think its anything to do with Nascar just the economy nobody's is spending

No one ever goes to qualifying for the Cup Series, so qualifying for the Busch Series is always dead too.

Most of the people were outside the track walking around. I didn't get to the track until just after Nationwide qualifying and that's where I saw most of the people.

Yea its normal for thier to be nobody in the stands for qualifying. Tater did they have the indepent vendors by that gas station by chance?

I always use qualifying as a time to hit the vendors and trailers and get ideas of what I might buy later on. Plus it gave me a good chance to see what was available of top tier drivers who had a chance to win the race.

Yes, but nothing, that I could see, on track property.
