Paint Cracking

My mom had some Jeff Gordon cars, Racing Champion, from his first year. I noticed the paint was cracked all over. Started thinking if this could, or does, happen with Action's or Elite's. I don't have any, out of my hundreds of diecast, that have had paint problems. When looking at pictures, link provided, I saw it in the spoiler on Kevin's car. Anyone have problems with this? Too much money spent to have this happen down the road.

Also, for those who do custom's, how much effort does it take to remove the wings. Wondering if these will fall off down the road. Glad the spoiler is back.

RC, HW and WC all used lower quality paints and clear coats (if any clear coat at all). However the early 90's editions of all cars are subject to it. I have some Revells cracking.

Not good to hear. The one in the link is a 2002 Elite.

I haven't seen any cracking on any of my 00-up cars and those are base ARC's. Could have been mishandled at some point.
