He has the regular Elite and the White Gold Elite. He only collects Elites.

None have shown up on the market at all since 2006. RCCA swears they were made, but I've been having my doubts. There should have been 4 or 5 total in platinum.

so RCCA just randomly inserts platinum diecasts into regular elite boxes for people to find? thats pretty cool! is it possible there are a bunch in a warehouse some place and have never been opened?

They don't anymore. They did for at least one year, maybe two. It was the best way IMO to distribute them. That IMO kept the value up on them, but then they started messing w/the production amounts. You didn't know ahead of time that you were getting one, so that was better for the true collector.
