Default This week's RFO

Well, I was finally able to post a couple of questions at that 'other' forum and here's the info I got.

Dr. Diecast said waiting for approval, the new finish is called 'shifting shades' changes inbetween 2 tones.
also he stated that Jeff's Retro Pepsi standard scheme
will be autographed.

It look's like I'll be pulling a few more work-shifts.

Isn't "shifting shades" what Mesma is supposed to do?

well...it might be different like the chromeillusions. I did some Crown Royal Hurricane Reilef cars in a red/blue duplicolor kit that looked purple from most angles and then went deep red or deep blue. I currently have an "ICE" version that is black with the rainbow mesmachrome look to it...looks pretty sweet. Waiting on the decals to finish it up and I'll post some pics.

When do you think MA and RCCA will actually spend their time adding detail to the actual car instead of just focussing on the body finish all the time. There are still details they could add to the interior, and things they could do to lower the suspension to make them look like they are in race trim. The COT's have looked virtually the same since 2007. I can think of a few other details, and I'm sure you guys can too.

Now I may be wrong here. but, doesn't mesma have more than 2 hues that show up at different angle's?

I don't own any of the mesma (yet)
but from what I have seen (and the pictures were not that good)
but the memsa almost seemed like it was a weird metalflake sort of deal. Changing color and hues at different angles.

I've got the Dale Jr, New Dew, Black memsa on order.

I think this memsa is a finish I'll need to look for
that is, if I can find a car that has a good scheme to go with it.

Mesma kinda reminds me of mother of pearl. It's like a metal flake white or off white, but turns baby blue, pink or light purple depending on the way the light hits it.
As far as MA/Action concentrating on the finishes and not the details, these cars are done by Action for QVC FRFO, so it is QVC that is looking for more finishes, NOT MA.

I'm not sure Zman,
from what I have seen in the past on QVC,
The ARC version will be auto'd. But what they tend to do is have those that are sold during the show or up until midnight est, all those that are ordered will be auto'd.

It's not the easy to get info on the QVC show.
However now that DR Diecast is posting over at the RCCA board. Information is getting a tad bit easier to get.
The way he made it sound is that Jeff's Standard Retro pepsi scheme will be auto'd. So I take that as being the ARC version.

It also appears that DW and Jimmie Johnson may be on as well.

Hope that helps.
