This car represents the 2004 Brickyard 400 car. I was sanding off the bottom grill, (see how it looks out of the box on the Dale Jr build) and got a little overzealous and sanded away part of the nose. Luckily for me, Jeff hit a piece of debris in THAT EXACT SAME SPOT! I could not have been happier when I researched that. What seperates this car from other 2004 cars, asides from the damaged nose, is that in the Brickyard race, because it was the 10th, Goodyear also ran a special logo on the tires, and there was a small circular decal on the C pillar, which is present in photos but I am not 100% sure what it is. I THINK it may be In Memory of Papa Joe Hendrick. Jeff also had a smaller grill opening for that race, which I scratchbuild a piece to match. As for the build, I am not overly happy with it. The blue I chose was too dark and the decals had all kinds of bleedthrough and fit issues. It looks better in pictures then in person, the camera flash eliminated the bleedthrough and seams in the neon orange decals. ![]() ![]() ![]()
