1995 Dale Earnhardt Silver Select-THE car that got me building NASCAR models!

As is pretty well known by now, I've been a NASCAR fan since December of 1992. I've been building models since 1999, but I didn't start building NASCAR models until 2004. Before 2003 I brush painted everything, and I didn't want to brush paint them and make them look crappy. Well, I decided to take the plunge in April of 2004, and this was the car that was the first.
I opened the trunk, which I had tried before but had never successfully completed. I painted it Testors Silver and decaled it later that same day (which is not supposed to be possible!) and it only took me a few hours to finish.

I know now that I did some majorly wrong things-for example, the red on the interior is the completly wrong color, among others-but it was a landmark model for me and the start of many, many more.

The most amazing thing, is that I was not aware of the date that I started it. Most of the time I don't pay attention to the day number. It turned out to be April 29th, which is Dale's birthday. I doubt that was a coincidence!

You can see on some of the photos that the paint has been worn off in several places from handling!
