    My Detailed Biography
I'm not very interesting so this shouldn't take too long-but I have a tendancy of being very verbose so who knows!
I am 23 years old and live in a very small town of Wappingers Falls, in the Hudson Valley, New York. As far as I know I am the ONLY Diecast collector in Wappingers Falls. I live with my mom and brother. My father died of cancer in 2002.
I have always been into cars-It was destined, I suppose-my grandfather owned a junkyard in Peekskill NY from 1932-1987 when he died, my father was a lifelong mechanic and racer, and my mom GREW UP at the junkyard! (I envy her!) I also have had several uncles who were races. I'm a third generation car-guy!
While I'm sure many things happened from when I was born in 1984 until 1992, none of them really matter (LOL). For Christmas of 1992, my uncle, at my mom's imploring, gave me a big box of 1992 Racing Champions cars-I was hooked! I didn't know who anybody was but that was truly the start of something big! So, from 12/26/92, to current, NASCAR has been the number one thing in my life. From 92-97 I was more of a casual fan; I knew a lot about what was going on then but I pretty much only watched Winston Cup regularly. In 1998, I do not really remember why, I took the next step and became a bigger, and better fan. I started watching Busch full time, and I made a concious effort not to forget the Truck races, but even more importantly, I started learning the history of the sport. While the 1992-1998 period is my favorite in NASCAR's history, the 1950s are my second favorite time-and also the hardest to find information about. 1998 is also when I started buying more diecast-before that I had pretty much only one version of each car, mainly the 1992 car, or when they changed the Chevys to Monte Carlo from Luminas or paint schemes. Just as an example!
In 1999, I started building model cars, and that took up a big portion of my life-but nowhere near as much as 1/64 NASCAR has. In 2002, after my dad died, I joined the Town of Newburgh Model Car Club, and that is where I met many of my friends. In 2000 I joined my first online message board, the yahoogroup ModelCarList (of which I am still a member of) and it all kind of snowballed from there. In 2004, I started building NASCAR models. I had put them off from my building because I was brushpainting everything and it looked like crap-I didn't want my NASCAR builds to look like crap. That led me to joining a NASCAR modeling message board, which is where I met Desi Kessler, also known as Tazmania, who told me of this very board's existance and invited me to join-I did and have been here ever since. I joined the online diecast community in 2005 when I joined the DieCast Warriors.
In 2005, I learned from a good friend, Eric Sing (AKA bufnstuf) that it was possible to build your own cars-I had long been lodging my complaints with the companys that they were not making the cars I wished to purchase. With his help I learned how to go about making my own-since that time I've made about 120 cars with plans for many, many more.
I am working on taking even the NEXT step into this hobby-I have mastered several bodies that are not elsewhere available, and I plan to have them cast in resin shortly. I am beginning with converting available factory stock cars into NASCAR trim, but eventually I will create new bodies that are not available in any form at all-for instance the 86-87 Pontiac 2+2, or the 1964 Mercury Marauder.

I hope to someday be in the employ of NASCAR itself as a historian, I am familiar with most all the drivers and cars dating back to the 1980s, and have a very good working understanding about the times before that-I can keep going or outlast in a conversation about the history of NASCAR most long time fans-it takes a very highly knowledgeable person to keep up or even outlast me in a conversation about NASCAR. I do not wish to brag but this IS what I do-I spend roughly 14 and 1/half hours a day (of an average of 16 awake) thinking about NASCAR, and pride myself on the ability to discuss NASCAR to a very high level, no matter what aspect of it!

Now, while my life truly does revolve around NASCAR, it is not the only thing I am interested in, by any means. Photography is a big part of my life-I've done it professionally so it probably should be. I've had three articles published that had both writing and photography done by myself. Since I got my digital camera in 2003 I've taken probably about 20 THOUSAND photos with it. Some of my favorite things to photograph, besides my cars of various scales, are the sky and flowers. Nature shots are all generally really fun to shoot, however, the sky is probably the most fun to shoot-I wish I had the capability to shoot photos of stars and the moon-I've actually been able to capture stars only once, in one photo, that must have just been the PERFECT light/setting/time, as I was able to actually capture Jupiter and the star Aldebaran.
Needless to say, I suppose, I am also into astronomy. I try to get out and look at the stars on clear nights, (it's actually pretty rare, to have a totally clear night here) and it's especially fun to see the International Space Station and the Space Shuttles when they are up there! I don't know too much about this but I've got a good friend who does so I can just call him and ask questions.
I collect coins-this is a new hobby for me. I collected briefly back around 1995, and I've collected the state quarter program, but I recently-like April 2008-found one of my dad's stashes and it got me back into it, big time. Since then I've started buying some older coins for my collection (my oldest is currently 1832-I spent $5 for it!) but the majority of my collection was pulled from circulation. It's ok with me however because unlike the majority I prefer circulated, worn coins-if the date is visible then it's fine with me!
I love history. I will scedule my day, from time to time, around what's on the History Channels (I get two, regular and International). I'm currently reading a 1200 page book(!) about history, published in 1989, called something like the Chronicle of Human Life or something like that. It is basically a small rundown of everything important that was known at the time it was written, year by year, dating from the dawn of human life to the close of World War 2. I've been reading on and off since November and am only up to the 1590s. It's heavy reading-in more then one way! It's complicated thinking to comprehend and retain all this info, BUT, the book also weighs 20 pounds! I have just concluded a book about Indian Tribes of the Hudson valley, written in 1872 and will soon finish a book about the US presidents, that includes at the end ALL the inaugural addresses in their complete, word for word form. That's a little slow to move through but I should have it done by the end of the week, anyway. That's just an example of the things I like to read about-however, my favorite thing to read about, history wise, is Ancient Rome. I absolutely love reading about that era, and I will always stop to watch, even staying awake all night, in fact, anything about Ancient Rome on TV!
Combining my love of reading, history and NASCAR, I'm actually in the VERY early stages of actually writing two books on the history of NASCAR-and I've got ideas enough of things about the sport that could probably take more then 5 books. Someday...
I also read DC Comics. My brother's been reading them since 1975 and he's passed that love on to me as well. He only reads DC, but I also read the Star Wars and Simpsons comics.
Which makes another nice segway-my favorite movies are all the Star Wars movies-yes, including the Prequals. I've even seen the Christmas Special-which was shown on TV once, before I was born! (there's a reason for that, but that's another story! ) My favorite TV show is the Simpsons, even though I feel like their best episodes are probably already done-I still watch each new episode on Sundays! And periodically there is still a really good one, too. That is about the only new show that's not NASCAR or History related I watch regularly; I enjoy many no-longer produced shows as well, like Home Improvement, Roseanne, and 1950s TV game shows like What's My Line (1950-1967) for example.
I also collect Star Wars action figures-my brother bought them in the original line back in 1977, and when they started the new line in 1995 we started again and havn't stopped since then! We also collect DC comics action figures as well, but none of the animated stuff-only the continuity stuff. I used to collect GI Joe stuff but I don't anymore-I just can't afford it and don't have the space anyway.
My favorite animals are squirrels, my favorite color is green, and my favorite driver is Dale Earnhardt Jr. although I like MOST drivers through history. My favorite car is, probably, the 1958 Edsel but I like most American cars pre-1973 and a few after that. I don't actually drive, myself, due to some circumstances that don't really need to be disgussed here. I also enjoy traveling, my favorite place to be is Lake George NY but I also enjoy Cape Cod and Toledo, Ohio.
I never curse, I never drink alcohol nor do I smoke anything.
Most of my friends are older them I am-face it, there just aren't many people my age who are interested in the same things I am, to the same degree I am.
I also say it like I see it, weather or not my opinion is popular or even really accepted. I rarely sugar coat things and I always speak my mind-is it any wonder I'm single? LOL! I have an opinion on pretty much everything, and if I don't it means I don't know enough about it-but give me some time to read about it and I will soon have my opinion.

Well, that's about all there is to me-I think I've covered everything. But feel free to ask questions, I would be more then happy to answer.
