McFarlane Toys kicks off a major event in the world of sports action figures. In response to fan demand, the company's new 2009 College Football line will spotlight current NFL players in their college uniforms.

The 2009 College Football line marks the first time college sports have been commemorated in McFarlane Sports Picks™ action figures, and McFarlane is feeding fans' fierce loyalty to college teams and their devotion to favorite players.

2009 College Football will include 6-inch scale figures of six pro football superstars in their school's home uniform, and will feature the incredible detail, signature poses and picture-perfect facial likenesses that McFarlane Toys is famous for.

McFarlane Toys' 2009 College Football is scheduled to be in stores August 2009. I will update with a list of players slated to be in this series when the info is released by McFarlane. I'm looking forward to this line for sure!

Tom Brady- Michigan
Adrian Peterson- Oklahoma

I can see them making all the others but come on, Russell, must be in his contract. A flop QB with 2 figures already(counting this one).

I hadn't seen a list yet. I was betting on a Brady, AP, and Peyton figure, I'm a bit surprised at the other 3 choices. I can't believe there wasn't a USC player in the lineup like Reggie Bush or anyone from Ohio State or the University of Texas. Now would have been the perfect time for a Santonio Holmes figure. Half the series is SEC guys. I was hoping for a Gators figure since they won another championship. Maybe in series 2 they can do a Jevon Kearse figure.

Thanks for the Info... I just wish these companies would actually start making collectibles again. What I mean is a limited supply and not 500,000 of them or how many them make of each player.

Nascar went crazy right after 2001 with making everything under the sun for it seems like 2002 up to 2007/08. Now hopefully with them cutting numbers they will be real collectibles again.
Its hard to brag to your friend that you have a Kevin Harvick rookie car..when over 100,000 of them were made...lol

Maybe Mcfarlane could make a Heisman Trophy winners set and make a very limited amount of 2500 or so...now that would be very cool.

Now theres and idea..make a draft bust flameout set of 100 each and make some of the biggest flops from the draft.. Ryan Leaf...David Klingler...Akili Smith..Kajana Carter.. Tony Mandarich... Heath Schuler... Steve Emtman... Brian Bosworth ( I always liked him)...

I remember when Starting Linue Up did their double packs and they did some with Pros and College uniforms, like Elway in his Broncos and Stanford uniforms. Granted they weren''t the best of detail, but they were still cool!

I agree, Dodgerblue has several of the old Starting Lineup figures and they are neat to look at.
