the "bird" was great to watch. he really did alot for baseball with his antics on the mound. he had a short but memorable career to those of us that are old enough to remember his baseball days with the tigers.

Loved when he would talk to the ball.Had a hell of year then got hurt and was never the same.

The Bird was a colorful character for sure. In the last couple of weeks alone the sports world has lost: 1960s Yankees Star Johnny Blanchard, Hall of Fame 3B George Kell, Angels 22 Year Old Pitcher Nick Adenhart, Phillies Legendary Hall of Fame Announcer Harry Kalas, Former AZ State Football Coach Bruce Snyder, who was Battling Cancer, and now "The Bird". All good people. Sad indeed.
