Default Cutler to Da Bears

Cutler going to Bears

By John Clayton ESPN.com

The Chicago Bears pulled the big upset Thursday afternoon by acquiring Denver Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler, a source told ESPN.com.
The Broncos confirmed the move.
To acquire Cutler, the Bears had to give up quarterback Kyle Orton and first-round picks in 2009 and 2010, a source said.
To complete the trade, the Broncos had to give back an undisclosed draft choice in a later round.
The Bears beat out the Redskins, Buccaneers, Lions, Titans and other teams to get land the 25-year-old Pro Bowl quarterback.
The Broncos had been asking for at least two first-round choices.
Cutler asked to be traded when he found out first-year coach Josh McDaniels tried to acquire Matt Cassel in a trade with the Patriots.
Cutler had not returned phone calls from the Broncos, according to the team, and had been staying away from the offseason program.

John Clayton is a senior NFL writer for ESPN.com

having been a 30 year fan of the broncos. i can no longer follow this organazation. they have i think destroyed this franchise for years to come. it's a sad day. i think the broncos will be scraping the bottom for several years to come now.
the bears could be a good team now, with the "d" they have and now the offense and the new running back.
i'm happy for cutler. i hope the bears at least make the playoffs his first year. and more if they can. and i hope cutler has a great year and career.

Kwik11,

Don't give up on the Broncos yet. Orton is not a bad QB. Don't expect him to run. He just needs a lot of protection from his OL. His accuracy on long throws is a little shaky...but he was well liked by his teammates. They had a lot of respect for him when he played with his injured ankle last year.

I don't think Orton is half the QB Cutler is, and with the addition of Orlando Pace to the Bears O-Line, even though he is older, I think the Bears become the instant favorite in the NFC North.

Well, it looks like I was wrong about the Jets. Great move for the Bears, gota hand it to them. They are stacked, and are some serious contenders now, filled in there missing piece, and dont need those draft picks IMO after this, plus Pace! Nice work Bears.
Broncos, LOL, Simms and Orton battling it out, wow, what a training camp they are going to have.
