Default Playoff Scenarios

NEXT WEEK:
1. NO: Clinches #1 seed.
2. MIN: clinch #2 seed with win or tie OR tie or loss PLUS Philadelphia loss. They fall to #4 seed with loss AND ARZ win. They cannot be the #3 seed or the #5/6 seed.
3. PHI: With MIN loss, they clinch #2 seed with win PLUS Minnesota loss. They clinch #3 seed with win, they fall to #5 seed with loss PLUS GB loss or tie. They fall to #6 seed with loss PLUS GB win.
4. ARZ: With MIN loss, they clinch #2 seed with win PLUS Minnesota loss PLUS Philadelphia loss. If MIN win, they cannot move up regardless of outcome.
5. GB: Clinch #5 seed with win. Clinch #6 seed with loss PLUS DAL win.
6. DAL: Clinch #3 seed with win, can get #2 with WIN plus MIN loses out PLUS GB beats ARZ. (Even though GB wins Tie-breaker, they can't win the division, which automatically eliminates them from preventing DAL at 2) Otherwise finish 6th seed.

AFC.
1. IND: Clinched #1 Seed.
2. SD: Clinched #2 Seed.
3. NE: Clinch #3 seed with win OR tie and CIN loss OR tie and CIN tie.
4. CIN: Clinch #3 seed with win AND NE loss or tie.
5. NYJ: Clinch #5 seed with win.
6. BAL: Clinch #6 seed with win.
STILL ALIVE:
DEN: Win and loss by NYJ, BAL clinch #5 seed.
PIT: Win and loss by DEN, BAL, NYJ clinch #5 seed.
HOU: Win and loss by DEN, BAL, PIT, NYJ clinch #5 seed.
AND for the craziness:
JAX: Win and loss by DEN, BAL, PIT, NYJ AND HOU clinches playoff spot
MIA: Win and loss by DEN, BAL, NYJ and HOU PLUS JAX loss or tie clinches playoff spot.

The last two are based on speculation, I believe JAX holds the tie-breaker if it involves conference record, otherwise, MIA has it.
There is a way for Denver to make it in by losing, but it is very complex. All I know is the possible combination of teams who can make it.
Miami and New York CANNOT make it together
nor can Jacksonville and Miami or Jacksonville/Miami and Houston.

Man, how far has Denver fallen? Win its first six games and now not even in a playoff spot (without a lot of help, anyways)?

Dallas can clinch #2 if they win, Minnesota loses twice, and a GB loss. I'm not positive but I thought I heard on sportscenter that DAL has the tiebreaker over ARZ.

Denver: New year, same results. I would give anything to have that #2 offense we had from last year instead of the Noodle arm QB we have this year.

Dallas can get the #2. In fact, everyone BUT Green Bay can get a bye (wasn't sure if Arizona could make it but I'm positive now they can). In order for Dallas to get the #2:
MIN Loss vs. CHI AND NYG
AND
ARZ loss vs. GB
If Arizona wins, Arizona gets the #2 seed.
Wouldn't it be something if Minnesota wins out, Dallas/Philadelphia win, Jets, and Houston make the playoffs? If that happens, here's the 1st round matchups.
NYJ @ CIN
DAL/PHI @ PHI/DAL
GB @ ARZ
HOU @ NE.
It is possible that all 4 week 17 games could have re-matches in the first round of the playoffs

Well the Bears now have Mr. Interception (Cutler)...so I am not sure if Cutler would have helped you much this year.

It helped when he had receivers. Of course, now that Denver doesn;t have a well-coached offensive line, you're probably right. It just proves that McDiapers wasn't the answer, and 6-0 was a fluke. Of course, 1-0 was a fluke.

The Bears have alot more promblems than Mr. Interception (he is not helping though) No running game, No O Line, No Defense = No wins. Bring on the Vikings tonight!!!!!

I still like Cutler more than Orton
