It is really fun to play and it is very challenging. And it doesn't take too much time on your hands. You basically draft a team and most leagues have a 16 team roster.
QB, RB, RB, RB/WR, WR, WR, TE, K, D/ST and then 7 Bench players to add to that. The more people in your league= more challenging. You also have conferences. So say if a league has 10 teams then there would be 5 teams in each conference
After you draft Scott, you will be facing a team each week of the fantasy football season. Which is normally 13 weeks and then 3 weeks of playoffs. Fantasy Football season of course starts on Week 1 of the NFL Regular Season. So Fantasy Football ends on Week 16 unless either you miss the playoffs(Week 13) or you lose in the playoffs(Week 14, and 15). Leagues of 10 normally have 4 teams in the playoff and complete in a bracket....just like in the NFL Playoff's. 2 teams from each conference face it other and then the winners play in the Super Bowl. Some leagues also have the "loser playoffs" which is all the teams that didn't make the playoffs play each other.
Now you're goal(just like in the NFL), is to have more points then your opponent. And you get points from your player of course. Normally it's 6 Pts for TD, 1 Pt for every 25 PaYd etc.......
You can also makes trades with other teams throughout the season. Or you can pick up players that our "Free Agents" which means nobody either drafted them or they were cut. You can add anybody that's a Free Agent but you also have to drop someone to add someone unless you have less then 16 players.
They're tons of magazines and mock drafts and player rankings all over the internet and in magazines I'm sure you have seen. They're only 50, 000 of them.....But really it just another's guy's opinion that get's paid to write it. He's making projections that you or I can make but I still but them
That's about it, I may have missed some stuff Scott..... Again it is an enjoyable experience and you'll get hooked if you do it. I'm in 5 or 6 leagues and to me it is Awesome, but some people can only do 1 league and I can understand that. If I were you I would only do one for the time being just to get a feel of it and I promise, you will enjoy it!
