Just wondering what everyone's thoughts were on the top 2 QBs coming into the NFL this year. I personally like Sanchez because I think he is more polished. Stafford has a big arm but there is just something about him that I don't like. Maybe it is because he played for Georgia. :dontknow: If you were an NFL GM, which QB would you draft and why?

I would go with Sanchez, I think he will end up being the better of the 2. But Stafford could end up being this years Matt Ryan, but I doubt it since he will more than likely be playing in Detroit.

Personally I wouldnt draft either one of them: I believe Stafford is a head case after refusing to answer questions during a interview with the 49 ers. Sanchez I wouldnt draft him either. The only USC QB to have done anything is Carson Palmer.USC system is great for college but the QBs dont seem to adjust well to the next level. I'm not a big fan of using your first round pick for QB's.60 million dollar bust in Alex Smith. I would draft Sam Bradford but not in the first round.I as well as the prognosticators think he will be the surprise of this years QB class. If I was GM I would probably be fired.I believe you need OL,DL,RB,WR before you draft a QB.You need to be able to protect the QB and someone to take the pressure of the QB.You need a good D line to stop the opponet if we turn the ball over.JMO. | ![]()

Neither. This years QB draft class isn't a very good one.

Finally lol. I don't think either of them are worth top 20 picks honestly, but everyone is projecting them as top 10s, and in Staffords case, first overall, only because the Lions and a few others need a QB. These two should be second or third rounders in my opinion, they aren't worth a first round pick because they won't preform like a first round pick when you get them. But all these teams need a QB, so they feel like the are obligated to get the best one avalible in the first round. | ![]()

The problem with drafting a QB in the top 10 is that they usually go to lousy teams and are expected to be the saviors right away. Of course, they usually fail because they have no talent around them, and that is a big hit to their confidence. It's difficult to recover from that. Imagine one of these guys going to a team like Detroit of St. Louis-- what do they have to work with? Not a lot. So it's going to be a tough road for them, and instead of being on a powerhouse college team that not only won, but dominated nearly every week in college, they're going to be on a scrub NFL team hoping to scratch out 3-4 wins their first year in the league. That's called a rude awakening. If you think about it, maybe that's why Cutler was more successful than Leinart or Young his first three years in the league. He went to Denver, where there was more talent (at least on Offense; don't get me started on their "D", or lack of it) where as Leinart went to Arizona and Young went to Tennessee. The higher you're drafted, the worse the team sucks, so maybe you don't want to be that great in college. (Of course, Leinart and Young do have their personal issues, and apparently, Cutler has some of his own, but I still think Cutler is going to be great!) And now, :focus: | ![]()

This draft is pretty deep in RBs, WRs, and defense. There are also some sleeper QBs that might do well down the road. Besides Stafford and Sanchez you have: Nate Davis, Pat White, Josh Freeman, Hunter Cantwell, Curtis Painter, Graham Harrell, and even John Parker Wilson who could develop into a decent backup. This year's draft is the most unpredictable in recent memory.

I thought I heard that most teams would try to convert him to WR. Harrell kinda intrigues me of all the quaterbacks in this year's draft, I think he would be the one that would have the most immeadiate impact for a team due to the system he played in at Texas Tech, but then again I can't think of any other Texas Tech quarterbacks in the NFL.
