I acquired a small collection of diecasts and they all wreaked of smoke. The smell hung around for a while, but it went away. Diecasts aren't like clothes, they don't absorb the smell, so it will wear off.

Either that or dryer sheets!

Obviously you do not want them to touch, but the carbon can absorb the odors.

Driver(s): Matt 'The Brat' Kenseth; Rich Bickle; Johnny Sauter; Paul Menard; Clint Bowyer | I picked up one on ebay for a good deal. When I got it, opened it to look at my newest acquisition, I got hit by cig smoke. Since I didn't have time to put it back in the box because I had to leave for work, I left it out for the night till I got back. I was fine when I got back. I didn't want to take the chance of using a multi purpose pledge wipe or a dryer sheet as some have suggested. Had no intention of potentially damaging the paint. I would just leave it/let them sit out for a while. This post contains 1 eBay auto-link(s) for your convenience.
