Default Jeff Gordon Retro Pepsi Challenger

Did anybody else watch For Race Fans Only last night and see the Jeff Gordon Retro Pepsi Challenger? I only watched for a few minutes, and saw that, completely unaware that he was going to be driving this car this weekend, and thought, oh great, another car that has or will never be driven. But, it will be. Obviously, they are releasing it in the 1/24th version they showed last night for like $200 or something. Well, you guys can jump back on me again for this, but lucky me, yay, my old man saw it, and he only collects the 1/64ths. Can anybody tell me any news about whether this car will be produced in 1/64th or not??? I do have to admit, it was one hell of a nice looking car and it Will be driven. If they make it in the Standard MA piece, non autographed and whatever high price scheme they showed last night, I will probably get one myself. Thanks in advance, and thanks for all of the "Closet Gordon fan" posts in advance too! I can hardly wait!

Did you notice they also had a DW Pepsi car on last night as well? I didn't watch the show but if you go to QVC.com you can see them there. I guess you're not a closet Gordon fan anymore-- one could actually say you've "come out of the closet"!

Gee, Shocker that you would be the first! Ya, I saw the DW one right at the end, they put a 10 second clip in there. But, like the Retro Dew car, it will be on its 100th different release at this point. Thanks for the heads up though. Definately wont be a preorder for me, but if they come down in price, I may get it at a later point. Depends on how it looks after I see it. Like the latest DW Dew, Im not a fan of the Pearl finish, there is not a noticable difference from the original if you are even a few feet away, at least in my lighting. Will wait and see.

This car will be produced in both 1/64 pit stop series and 1/64 h/o series.

I'm a "casual" Gordon fan.
I pull for Jr

However I did watch the show.

I did pull the trigger on the auto'd Jeff G 'Retro Pepsi'
($193.00 plus tax, no shipping for that night only. Today, it's $233.00 plus shipping and tax)

I do not think, or I must have missed it. But I believe that it's a standard paint scheme on it.

For me, Some autos are harder to get than others.
And Jeff seems to be one of the drivers.

I was also tempted to get that JJ 2009 auto's Race win.

But after looking at my pre-order sheet.
I'm in for 4 cars already through the "Q"
And I've got 2 Races at MIS to attend yet and I've got to watch my budget. (or at least try to)

And what makes this even more difficult is that

On May 22nd, 2009
QVC For Race Fans only will have Dale Jr as the guest and will be coming live from the Whisky River.
Tickets for this event go on sale 4-30-2009

It's your choice and I'm glad you are happy and have what you want, buy when I do the math, I can't see it for myself.
The place I get may cars usually cost me $65.00 shipped for new releases.
You paid $193.00, tax not included, that means you paid $128.00 for Jeff to put Sharpie to plastic. Too steep for me.
Again, glad you got what you wanted.
Another question I have, is I too watched the show, I thought they said that they were only making as many as they had ordered on the show that night, so that begs the question, how is it still available, and for more money? Strange...........:wtf:

not strange, FF

I think they got their script messed up.
When Jeff was on, he kept telling dan that he would sign everything that got ordered and up to 5,000 of them.

I really believe that it was a press release mix-up.
team gordon told the Q that he would sign up to 5,000

and that Dan either got it wrong, or just kinda skimmed over
the script and missed that part.

either way, not strange, just a little weird.

as for the mark up. Everybody's got to get a little bit of the pie.
so using your numbers. 128.00
what part of that do you think Jeff gets? what part do you think QVC gets?

I've gotten auto'd cars from a couple of drivers at the track.
For those 2 cars I didn't have to pay anything extra. $70.00 each

I'm leary of getting auto'd piece's from other source's, whether it's E-bay or online stores.

I keep my eye's on the drivers web-site's to look for certain drivers, but a few of these top-tier drivers have fan-clubs that you have to join to be able to get some of these items, so in a sense you'd be paying extra for an auto'd car from them.
A few of the drivers do have auto'd cars at a more reasonable price, like harvick and kenseth.

I also believe that a piece of that price goes to pay for the hologram program that Jeff has gone to using and the Retro Pepsi will carry that hologram program.

In addition, look at some of the stick and ball sports,
Look at what they charge to put a sharpie to a basball?
What's a baseball cost.

I'm more than happy to have had the chance to get a
"legit" Auto'd Jeff Gordon die-cast.

I don't know how ya'll get 'access' to all these drivers.
But if anybody is willing to tell me or explain to me how I can get 'access' to the 2 races I attend at MIS each year.

I'd be more than willing to listen and take notes.

Gota, as of now, it will be produced. There's still the chance its canceled as a 1:64, (The Jr. Foundation car was canceled in 1:64 a few days ago). I hope its not canceled, but don't rule it out.
