I am having mixed emotions on this one. Why make then carts? If they are going to all the trouble of creating the game, why make them as carts and not as regular cars? Not sure if I would like it or not.....

my guess...they simply used the template from Mario Kart (which they claim it is just like...) and just made new NASCAR skins of the typical popular drivers. My kids love MK so it should be a big hit with my son.

It's likely to be more fun then the regular NASCAR games. Out of the 11 years that EA has released the NASCAR games there has only been one that I would still play today...NASCAR Thunder 2004.

I like the realism of 09 but the Career mode has never been the same since 2004. What happened to hiring and firing crew members...building and refurbishing engines, bodies, and chassis and having to wait weeks for each to be done? IMO, the career mode in 2004 was the most accurate career mode that EA has ever done. Sure, 05-07 were great with multiple series but there was no strategy when they threw out having to build your own stuff. It became too easy and cheesy to me.

I really liked playing it online, but there were allot of kids and older people too, who would crash people on purpose, and then flame people like crazy. I got tired of that real quick.

well...unfortunately it is like most things, particularly as they relate to NASCAR...Money first, interests second. Once it's sold, they care less how or why...the NOW factor is most important. Easy/cheesy suits most of the NASCAR following. Think about it like this as well, the 'old guard' is already saturated with interest, they are trying to appeal to the new fan, with diversity at it's root. Also like other areas, luring in kids means future business for years to come, with deeper wallets and a new interest in the brand. It's an old game...brand association at an early age creates lifelong attatchment. The "happy meal" was pure marketing genius.

I can't remember the last time I bought an EA Nascar game. They've all been the same. I may buy 09 when it gets down to $30 for the PS3 since I don't have one for that system yet.

Here's some more info.
Drivers include
Harvick, Burton, Kenseth, Kahne, Johnson, Gordon, Kyle B., Dale Jr., Hamlin, Stewart, Edwards, Sadler, and a handful of made up cast.

Also has a number of tracks...the one that looks the most intriguing is Daytona...it looks to be the OLD daytona including a BEACH RUN!!!
