I was looking through my cars tonight and I noticed my 01 Jr Bud 1/24 didnt have the hood/trunk teathers...So I headed over to Ebay and searched 01 elites...The other Jr Standard paint didnt have teathers either...For the rest of the drivers some did and some didnt...I just found this to be weird and wondered if anyone knew why...

I have a 2001 Bobby Labonte Test Car Elite, and it doesn't have the hood or trunk tethers either. It has the brackets where they would get attached to, but the tethers themselves aren't present. The other 2001 Elite I have, a Hank Parker Jr. car, does have the tethers.

Wonder if it has to do with when the car was made? Like the first production runs didnt have them but later cars did?
