Default this would've helped me.......

first, thanks to karl for posting all the info that he has thus far. it has been very informative for myself and hopefully many others as well.

second, what would've helped me when i was first starting out collecting would've been a breakdown of each company, brand or extension available. although most everything now falls under the MA umbrella i could've saved myself about $300.00 had i known what to look for, what to buy and what not to.......

now i'll need some help here and i'm sure some corrections will be needed but here goes......

1) Winners Circle: a retail brand sold in larger retail outlets (Walmart, Target, Kmart, etc) geared towards the younger collector. Sold as hood closed for around $17.99 and hood/trunk open for around $27.99. (Most alcohol related sponsors were changed to the drivers/team name in a similar logo style)

2) Action ARC:

3) RCCA:

4) Team Caliber:

5) Checkered Flag Sports:

you get the idea, i'm really not the one that should even attempt to disect this creature but i'm sure there are a few people here that could handle this. when i heard "diecast 101" that's kinda what i had in mind anyways.

had i known this information when i was first starting out i wouldn't have spent $300.00 on Winner's Circle closed hoods in the clear plastic bubble, LOL!!!!

Looks correct to me, except Team Caliber no longer exists and WC cars do not have open trunks regardless of what car or price range.

RCCA is also ARC. They just take claim to their own stuff. (basically the base line RCCA 1/24 is an ARC standard) Sometimes the sticker is different but I think normally it's the same. My RCCA Sorenson Home 123 says ARC/RCCA on the sticker I think.

Plus there was Racing Champions and Hot Wheels too. Ertl used to do Nascar and I know now it's a part of Racing Champions called RC Ertl. Matchbox did cars too. And it also is connected to Hot Wheels. I never noticed that there was a huge trend in the companies. Winner's Circle was originally owned by Hasbro not ARC. Trying to think of the company that did the Haulers for years....it was Georgia something...Hell I can't remember.

Peachstate and GMP (Georgia Marketing Promotions) were one in the same and I believe who you are speaking of.
