Default History of TCL

I am sure that I won't get all of the details correct, so Racer and Geebi can fill in the blanks on this one, but I will give it a whirl. I am horrible with dates, so I won't even try because I can't remember what it was like before TCL existed. Hell, that was some 7000+ posts ago for me, and that's a lot of typing and a lot of SPAM. This is a good place for our new members to come, though, to see where our board originated and why we're here and 500+ members strong. (Although, our number of contributing members is much lower, it's still an impressive number.)

Most of the original members were on another board, one that had been created by Action, or more specifically Winner's Circle. That board didn't last long, maybe five or six months. At the time, their distribution was, well, let's just says, inadequate. More threads were posted in the ask Action section of that board complaining about lack of cars and Ebay scalpers than anything else. Well, except for the weekly "is this car going to be made?" after every race!! A few of the board members also made phone calls to Action/WC concerning the very same topics. The board was barely moderated; people were getting banned because they were calling out WC for their poor marketing; and overall, the board just wasn't run well.

Then there were the personality conflicts. There were members that just didn't click. Gordon fans vs. Earnhardt Fans (i.e. me & NoZ). Oh, the great times we had!! Oh how Winner's Circle HATED that too!! I remember when NOZ posted the pictures of his medals and tattoos. Those were truly the good old days. I remember sitting at my keyboard, thinking, how can I spin NOZ up today. (He is now a member of this board, known as Blacker, we have buried the hatchet and have actually done a trade or two!!) There were also great friendships that have developed, which I am sure that, as you observe the daily posts on the board, you will be able to see. In all of that, the first 12 members of the board to reach 1000 posts became known as "the Dirty Dozen". We think one of them was actually a WC spy-- Scott Riggs anyone??

Finally, Winner's Circle couldn't take it any more. They temporarily shut down the board, and then eventually, it was gone and evolved into an "ask Action" e-mail. All of our connections, pending trades, etc. didn't matter to them; they just pulled the rug out from under us. No matter; it was Racer and Geebi to the rescue. I don't remember how long it was, but soon, in it's first form, the Collector's Lounge was born. I know that we have changed forum styles several times, but now we are still going strong after three years, and hopefully, will continue for many more to come....

The WC site was awesome for the first year, until they started banning posts that were, from frustrated collectors!!! That is when RI decided to start this site!!!! At first we actually had a WC rep registered on this site. But, now we can't even get them to answer an email!!! She always answered my private emails, but she must have been let go, since then!!! Since then TCL has Grown more than anyone could have predicted, and WC has become more of a lost cause, because we never know what is going to be released anymore!!!!

"Cirkee"-- what the hell does that mean anyway? Didn't they change the name to "Legend" or something like that? Yeah, I remember Ashley. She was cool. I remember talking to her and she sent me some sample cars too. I think she finally quit and moved and then some dumbass guy replaced her, and that's when everything went to hell out there.

I remember joining the WC boards and Gotah thought I was Nick and kept sending me messages saying he hated me and was going to report me and such.

There's a lot of new info there. For me anyway. I always have hated Winner's Circle so I never thought to go to their websight.

Who was it that started 10 + websights? Anyone still around? (meaning anyone I know?)

I dont recall ever telling you that I hate you, but I do recall questioning you quite unfairly. So not that you got a chance to know him, you figure out why? lol sorry again trevor

As for Billys question.... Read what Trevor and I are discussing, and hopefully you can figure it out from that.
