so i'm guessing the point of this section is to talk about what new cars are coming out and what's gonna be the next "BIG THING" (at least that was my thought) for me the "MUST HAVE" this year (if it doesn't get cancelled that is) is gonna be Truex's Freightliner 1:24, it's not often we get to see a new scheme from True's camp so i'm anxiously awaiting the release date of this one, 07-14-08 to the best of my knowledge. with all the cars that are being cancelled this year i'm praying this one doesn't fall victim to the AXE!!!!

That doesn't effect me, but there are allot of fellow embers whom it will. I feel for them as they lose allot of cars to the axe.

As a dealer it bothers me that Action cancels so many 1:64 diecast. We sell a pretty fair amount of 1:64 cars and I don't think that Action realizes there is a whole collector base out there that doesn't do 1:24's due to space, money or other reasons. Most of our 1:64 collectors collect ALOT of different drivers and Action really should get a clue that they are alienating a whole segment of there customer base by cancellations.

i have sent them e-mail after e-mail about this very thing and all they have to say is that there just isn't a demand for 1/64. you and i both know that that is the biggest load of BS there is.

I only post on the Pick One game now, but this is the reason I have pretty much gotten out of diecast collecting. It seems like a large portion of the cars, schemes, and/or drivers I want to get are not available in 1/64. For me, it just became too frustrating. I don't have the money or the space for 1/24 cars.

This is a shame for TCL as well as Diecast. Wheelie, you are not alone. The sad part is, is that there IS a demand for 1/64th, there just is not a demand for the same car offered 8+ times in different packaging during the same year. I, and I think most others would rather see more limited editions of higher #'s of DIFFERENT cars. Its simple Marketing, and whomever is in charge over there outta be out of a job. Lower the #'s, the demand would be higher for EVERY car produced. DUH. They would sell a higher volume of more then 10 drivers, but instead, they choose to flood the market with the same 10 drivers, and change the trinket. I too am sick of the 1/64ths and money permitting, am redirecting my focus on more of the 1/24ths. That being said, I all but refuse to buy a new car within the first few months, because for darn near every car, you can wait a few months, and get it on ebay or something similar for a much cheaper price. Again, its back to the #'s. More options, few numbers, or less options, and flood the market? Clearly, option 2 is how Action/MA thinks.

If we don't support the dealers, then there will be no one ta sell the cars that we so deperately want. Then EBay will be only guys who can manipulate the price however they want. JMO. I choose to buy from my friends the dealers that I know.

Ken I agree with you BUT! I also believe it's far past time to make MA realise that they need to really get back in the game! They are over priced for the regular collector, They over produce far to many common drivers yet cancel to many drivers that could be made in very limited supply. They concentrate far to much on fantasy and special finish paint jobs and not enough on accuracy on the diecat they produce. their retail sells are now more concentrated on trinkets not diecast. RCCA is falling so far back it isn't funny and the ONLY thing that is keeping that division afloat is the 1/24th Elites. It's time that MA be put in their place first. Then the dealer CAN compete with Ebay and the mom and pop business could still sell and make some money in the hard to reach areas.
