Default What's the difference...???

What's the difference between ACTION and an ACTION BROOKFIELD???? I don't see where there are many differences between the two other than the box and, of course, the price???? And I am also wondering if those 1/18 scale cars are really worth it as well...could someone please enlighten me on both subjects????

Brookfield's are made with plastic chassis. 1/18th's are really just a preference. They are huge and look great but not many people buy them. I only have 3 and they are all in storage.

I have seen a few 1/18 and they ARE big. Guess I shuld be pretty picky and only have a limited few of those.

As for the Brookfields I am still a little lost as to why they seem to be more expensive since they have the plastic chassis. Are they more limited in production then????

Any I have seen are not more expensive.
They ARE lower production and at one time, higher detailed in the engine compartment, but now, they are the same as an Action Platinum Series car. The regular hood open, trunk open car.
They usually do not have an opening trunk, and at times do not even have an opening hood. They were usually the last thing thought about when they made the trackside sets, the Dually and trailer sets, w/open or enclosed trailers. Eventually they quit offering cars w/the Dually and trailer sets.
I have one in the Blaney Jack Daniel's livery and it is a very nice piece. Light in weight due to the plastic chassis, but nicely detailed, VERY LOW production numbers, and went very well w/the Dually and enclosed trailer.

The reason that I ask is a local store here has a Harvick dually set available. He will hold it for me until I get some ca$h flow again but he wants 125.00 for it. It DOES include the car as well. Just wasn't sure if I wanted to give up that much display space when I could put it to other use......

The hood on that car will not open. It is essentially like a Winners Circle car, BUT the interior and wheels look like an Action c/w/c. Nice detailed and multi colored.

I don't know too much about the Brookfield stuff, but I can tell you that 1/18ths are just too big. I personally don't like them, I have one, Winners Circle Kasey Kahne Original, but I'd never buy another one, they are hard to display.
