Hey, nobody has posted here yet, so I thought I'd throw in my two cents. If I can give any advice I'd say stick to what you see on the track. It sucks to see a Ford truck customized in Jeff Gordon colors and numbers with a Calvin and Hobbes decal on it. Or, to get more detailed, the wrong font for lettering and numbers. The actual customizing and techniques could fill a whole book, mostly it's trial and error and practice. If at first you mess it up, try again. I enjoy customizing a lot, it just takes a lot of time and effort, so I haven't done it in a while. But, I've seen a lot of cars on Ebay and can say I wouldn't buy any of them because the quality just isn't there, or they decaled the car in a crazy manner. But, it is interesting. | ![]() | ||

| Resident 1/24 hater Feedback: 2 reviews Age: 25 Location: Dutchess County, New York Photo Albums | Classified Ads Create a Transaction View Previous Transactions Leave Feedback | I've bolded about the best advice anyone could give in the above post...While there are lots of little ins-and-outs of building cars, that is a big one... I agree wholeheartedly about the first paragraph as well. I have fits when I see stuff like that-if it's not accurate it's a waste of time, in my opionion. (and the whole world would be a lot better if everyone just automatically accepted my opinion as right!:))) One of the other big things is TAKE YOUR TIME. If you rush things you will make mistakes. Always check references before you start, that way you won't end up making a mistake and later regretting it. Patience is key! Some times it's for the better if you set something aside for a while then go back to it-don't give up hope. Know what you are hoping to accomplish before you begin. It sounds simple but it makes a lot of difference. Are you trying to build an accurate replica? Do you just want a representation of the general car? Are you going for a specific race? And if yes, pre or post race? The tip of a silver Sharpie can be used to simulate hood and trunk pins. I'll have more later.
