Decals Based Off of NASCAR 09

I've read about people making decals by resizing existing NASCAR 09 templates. I want to know if this is possible and is there a method on getting it to the right size. Also, I'm not sure if they mean actually getting water slide decals, or just cutting it out and crudely pasting the image on the car so correct me if I'm mistaking about this.

Hey Ryan. I'm one of those people who take those 09 templates. I do not simply paste them to the diecast. I have decal paper which I place the templates upon. I have a size template on my computer that matches the 1:64 diecast perfectly and boom, that's how I do it. Haven't done it in a few months though. ran out of decal paper.

well. what they mean is u download the template and resize it to fit ur car, and print it out on regular paper and cut it out and glue it to the car. i've done this many times and they turn out looking great. my friend came over to my house and saw the denny hamlin super mario brothers car i made and asked me if i bought that because it looked so good

No, I actually redo then entire car including repainting and decal paper. It turns out pretty good as long as the clear coat doesn't eat away at the paint.

you gotta be careful about that clear coat. ruined many models doing that!

It ruined my Keselowski and Newman car but not my Bowyer car. I used Testor's paint on the ruined cars and Krylon primer on the Bowyer so I guess it's the paint.
