Also, spray them with 1-2 light coats of a lacquer clear. I use a small can of testors. Be careful with your choice. Testors has never failed me. I use the one that says Gloss Coat. Otherwise, his are thin and can tear.

I just got a sheet from him the other day for a car I've been wanting to do for years, but he never sold that sheet to SMH. The #7 2008 Valvoline/Jim Beam dodge from Atlanta.

Enjoy. His stuff is great.

best ever? so I assume this means he finally learned to spell LOgano instead of LAgano on his name rails? I'll be reasonable and say I used his sheets a lot early on as he had everything I wanted...but it got tiresome when the schemes were based on media release instead of cars raced and logos/decals were wrong/missing.
The sheets in general are VERY thin which implies they lay down like they are painted on which is part of what I liked about his sheets. They however have become very translucent and show most colors through them now requiring twice the sheets...they get it done, he offers variety...but best anywhere ever...no way..not even close.

His customs are top of the line. I have a few from 2004. I see a lot of customs out there that really are crap in comparison. His customs kinda got me wanting to do it for myself. I've been doing it since. I really don't see many builders that can do what he does (all around) and offer it the way he does.

I'm not one to sweat the little things, but some of you are. Nothing is perfect. Enjoy what's out there for what it's worth.

haaa...so here's what I'm getting from this, his customs are the best ever, you don't sweat the little crap that others do...but other customs are crap...ok then....just saying, I've used Brian's stuff...I've never paid the insane fees he requires to complete a custom, everyone makes mistakes, myself included. I take emphasis on waiting until a scheme is run to get the decals right. He takes emphasis on PPG paint and clearcoat and making a buck...I've heard his customs are great and shine...but you can polish a turd...and deep down it's still a turd when you spell things wrong and you put the wrong stickers/contingencies/leave stuff off the car...as you said, everyone has their own thing...I know plenty of folks, one guy in particular who makes Brian look like a school boy with a pinchpot ashtray for mommy...and it's not me by ANY means...ask around about a guy named Clay Kemp...

Not doubting you or degrading your opinion by any means. I'm just saying, with my experience, he's been great to work worth. Several people here feel the same. I was just giving the guy in this thread a members opinion from someone who has used them with success. Never heard of Clay, but would love to see his work. I'm not sure I've ever seen a car Brian put out that was a "terd." If you know of one, then please share. I have several, and everyone of his are incredible. Believe me, I've got mine to compare to his, and mine, IMO and others of this board, are some of the best you'll find on this board by members who are willing to "take requests," and Brian has me beat hands down.

Just my opinion of his work. I understand you think he sucks. We can agree to disagree. :)

I really don't even think he sucks. I relied on his stuff for a very long time until I was burned by him...and then his work got sloppy on the 'customer' side of things, and then he switched to laser printing and the whites got real weak...his decals are incredibly thin and make them appear painted on which is great. I have some top shelf pieces I've made with his sheets. I'm simply saying he's not the best, his stuff is a cut above average beyond the masses now who make hands and pieces of stuff for fun. I've seen some work that blows his out of the water, and charge considerably less..have to agree to disagree...I just don't think his stuff is 'the best'. Heck there is a kid in Germany who posts on some modeling boards that is lights out attention to detail clean CLEAN builds...just saying I like Brian, I think he puts out a TON of decals others won't touch or waste time on, but he rushes projects and does a crappy job at times getting things accurate/correct. He has also ignored a ton of folks which is just poor service. It is what it is, I'm glad you enjoy the hobby because of him...I was there once too.

Mike let me help you out here... I believe everyone will want to take a look at this scratchbuilt model of the monster truck Samson. There's some broken links but I think you will get an idea.

WIP: "SAMSON" Monster Truck - Forums - Scale Auto: For building plastic & resin scale model cars, trucks, motorcycles, & dioramas

I have a couple of Brian's customs, one picked up second hand. On both the finish is awesome but for the price it would have been nice to have the decal colors pop a bit more. Mike is spot on about the decals as well - the custom I did of Sadler's 2005 #08 Taurus I had to mix and match from JWTBM sheet to get the decklid correct.

Whenever I create a decal scheme, I definitely make sure it runs first so every decal is right. I will not release artwork to be printed unless it is accurate. If someone points out an error, I fix it. I've never dealt with Winscales so I cannot pass judgment on them. I will say that my decals do not need 2 sheets doubled up to get the required finish.

As for Clay Kemp, @NEW2 is correct; the man is insane with his builds. Proof is in the links below.

I have delt with the guy and it's like pulling teeth..which is why I stopped using his junk...made my own and the same as you, I run a 'proto' first and take photos of it. I can often see things with a camera that I can't just looking for it.
