Default Newbie Question About Removing Decals

ok, i've tried reading some on here, and just want to clarify with you guys before i mess anything up. Im looking to make a few customs, and just need to take the decals off of a few 06/07 1/24th action cars.

Is all i do is apply acetone nail polish remover and the decals come right off ? Does this mess up any of the paint on the car at all ?

Also, when applying the remover, do you just brush lightly over the decals, or kinda use heavy coats and let it sit for a few minutes until they come off ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

OK..if the car is painted the color you want, yeah use nail polish remover, and my experience q-tips in a circular/scrubbing motion works pretty well. YES it can damage the paint underneath if you apply it too long or scrub too long...keep a damp towel handy to dilute the remover solution as you go. I would suggest removing the windows/plastic too as it will take the black trim off and if you use regular acetone polish remover it will smear the plastic beyond repair. Not too difficult to remove windows particularly on Team Caliber cars or the new MA which is a blend of the older action and Team caliber cars. You can reattach the windows with hot glue. I'm about to reassemble the Dew car so I'll take some pics of the process if that'd help.

my thought on that...without being an ass for a change...why don't you just buy the diecast? typically it is WAAAY cheaper and simpler to go that route with year prior cars. IF not check smhracing.com. They have most everything.
