What The... PC PRO in the house?

My computer is wicked tick'in me off.
It's got a Trojan stuck in it and it runs slower the smoke off snail sh--!!
Many times if I try to multi-task it locks up.

I ran AVG it found a Torjanhorsecrypt.MEE and I deleted it.....I dumped all my cookies.....many of those showed infection.
After all this no change.....it's like my system gets re-infected.
I even only went here and my Photo site.
Still pops up Tracking cookie found. The damn Trojan is back!!

I run AVG Anti Virus.....StopZilla Malware/Trojan killer...firewall is up.
I'm about ready to see how this PC can bounce!
I'm running Windows XP Home....IE8.

Never had this happen before.....well it has but I fixed it with a lil brain work. This time isn't going well at all!!

HELP!!

I run Spybot SD with Norton Internet Security 2010 and have had no issues whatsoever. Did you DL something or open a strange mail?

Even more basic is did you upgrade your antivirus? I recall that AVG updates almost daily.

I ran Spybot and it found 289 problems....I had it fix em all.
BUT the machine still seems painfully slow.

What now?

Whe I first reboot the system it has a crap load of black boxes load up that have the header of "16 Bit MS-DOS Subsystem"
C:\windows\system32\command.com in the window and it prompts me to close or ignore all 20-30 of em as they pop on the screen.

Did you try to run it in safe mode then run the virus scanner?
Sometimes that helps

I'll see how things are next 24hrs.....once it gets fully booted seems faster.
Just quirky at boot up....I just have too much stuff installed on my puter or I'd format and redo the whole thing.

I would run a registry cleaner and a defrag.

I run this one for defragging. Defragment Disk | Smart Defrag | Free&Server Defragmenter Download | Defrag Server 2008/2003/2000 RAID Supported!

For cleaning junk files and the registry I run the wise registry cleaner and the wise disk cleaner: Wise Registry Cleaner | Wise Disk Cleaner - Keep your PC at peak performance!

I also run page defrag in startup: PageDefrag

I'm a computer tech.

go to start/run/ type in msconfig
go to the tab that says start up
this is a list of everything that starts every time you turn on your PC, even if you dont use it.
Go down the list and remove the check marks from everything except the antivirus program.
reboot
Your PC will look funny right now, that's OK, you turned off all non esential applications, now 1 by 1 go back to start/run/msconfig and add the check marks back and reboot each time until the PC boggs down again, that is the program giving you your problems.
Add as few check marks back as you can and your PC will perform much better due to wasting less resources on programs you dont need running all the time.
If you want, you can cal me and I can walk you through it. PM me and I'll shoot you my number.I know whick ones are for sound and video and can save you a lot of times rebooting.
