I just met the most inspirational kid I've seen. His name is Reed Luepke. He loves racing, especially late models. He's 6 years old, going into first grade. And he has leukemia.

Racing for a Reason at Shawano Speedway in Shawano, WI was to help promote childhood cancer and to help get rid of it. There were silent auctions, raffled baskets and dirt car sheet metal. There was a racing quilt consisting of old t-shirts that went for $475. It was truly awesome.

I got to talk to Reed, actually a lot. He was one of those cool kind of kids. He has approx. 65 1:64 late models, and a bunch of 1:24 late models also. He is just like I was, except I was more into Nascar. His favorite Nascar driver is Danica. He has favorite late model drivers are Brady Smith, local driver AJ Diemel, and Jimmy Mars.

I really, really feel bad for him, but he's just a kid living life.

I just saw Dale Sr.'s twin. The race director at Shawano was named Dale (lol) and had the Sr. look and 'stache with glasses.

Thats so sad. I hate hearing of little kids that are sick like that. Hope he can beat it. My 15 year old great nephew has been fighting cancer for over 2 years. He had a large tumor on his brain stem and after surgery and lots of treatments,his last 2 check ups have indicated that he is cancer free. there is always hope!
