3 years ago today was the first day our son came to live with us forever.His mom, my sister in law passed away the day before unexpectedly at the age of 39.DeeJay had been staying with us on and off since he was 3 weeks old.Usually about two weeks to a month at a time.
The first time we took DeeJay to see his NiNi and Epa he won my dad over.DeeJay was fussing and my dad asked if he could hold him.DeeJay went to my dad and my dad reclined in his chair.DeeJay layed on his chest and went to sleep.DeeJay slept for about two hours and my dad never moved.My dad and mom were talking to the wife and I and they both said you know "DeeJay will end up living with you one day."
We said "that would be fine".As we didnt have any kids and wouldnt be having any.
A couple of months later I was working and I recieved the phone call nobody ever wants to hear.My wife in hysterics and said I needed to come home right away that Jaimie DeeJays mom) passed away.Jaimie passed away from cepces (infection in blood stream).The cepces traveled into the heart and she passed away.Jaimie had surgery the week before.
We went from 0 kids to three instantly.DeeJay has two older sisters.18,9 at the time.The 9 year old came to live with us for the first year.Due to issues she now lives with her sister.
DeeJay came to live with us and he was just beginning to walk.The changes have come fast and furious.We have many pictuires of DeeJay from the first day forward.
Recently we were adding fish to our fish tank.We were in Wal Mart and DeeJay picked out a black gold fish.DeeJay told my wife and I that it was Momma Jaimie.My wife and I looked at each other in amazement.The Wal Mart employee tried to round up Momma Jaimie.Momma Jaimie didnt want to be caught.The Wal Mart employee finally caught Momma Jaimie and we brought her home.DeeJay often says that is Momma Jaimie as DeeJay watches her swim around.
Jaimie may be gone but will never be forgotten.As tough as some days are, there isnt a day that goes by that I dont think about how dull life was w/o DeeJay.Our only regret is DeeJay will not get to know Momma Jaimie except for the pics and stories we have of Momma Jaimie.Jaimie may be be gone but will never be forgotten.
