A negative "air" about this place. (Pure conjecture on my part, read w/an open mind)

Recently, there seems to be a "negative air" about this place. Someone makes a post or authors a thread, and before the post is done, or the thread is a few seconds old, someone is making a reply or a post that is just aching to start a battle. Be it anti Jr. (which most are) or just plain negative.
I have been thinking very hard about this, and I still cannot decide if it is the bad economy and the effect it is having on us all, and the pressure we are all under, or what it is, but to me this seems totally unnecessary.
I am as guilty as the next guy, but upon seeing, or as one may say, discovering this, I have decided to make a concerted effort to try to be less negative.
I have noticed that the Jr. "bashing" is getting way out of hand. To hear, or should I say read all of the negative Jr. posts, and/or threads, one would begin to think that Jr. is everything bad about NASCAR. To hear/read these posts, He is the reason that, there are no sponsors, the races are long, boring, have no passing whatever is wrong.
He sells too much, he sells too little, Action makes too much of his stuff, his fans are idiots, HE is an idiot, I could go on and on.
If you are frustrated, say what's really on your mind, OR if you don't know, don't say anything. It can't always be Jr. or his fans that are the "Root of all evil". We all get frustrated, and the (what seems as) number one way to vent that frustration is to "slam" Jr..
We're all bound to have differences of opinion, and that will never change, BUT, must we always call someone out who aggravates us? Take a deep breath and let it slide. I have found, if someone says something that "pisses" me off, if I walk away, or close the browser window, go somewhere else, be it away from the PC, or even just surf the web for awhile, and then come back later and check a few different threads before I come back to that thread/post, I see things a whole lot differently.
Less negative posts, lead to a whole lot less negative responses. Less negative responses lead to a whole lot less hurt feelings which in time lead to more positive posts, better relationships and a whole lot nicer place to be.
Again, I am as guilty as anyone, but I am making a concerted effort to make less antagonistic posts and replies. I hope we can all see this and all try to be better friends to each other, rather than being the die-cast, sports, and literary police. It's just not our place to put everybody else in theirs.....again, it's just my opinion, BUT hopefully more of us will agree. Just maybe.......

Ken I think your on to something here,.. can't speak for anyone but myself & for me this is really simple,. I don't post on the site anymore,. I tried to poist a few comments thinkin' I could maybe be involved ina few conversations,. but usually when I do post something,. there is never a response so thats why I say theres a little click here,. A little negative but the site is pretty good,. Somehow,. someway I have accepted the fact that I'm just not liked here very much so I only check it out to read the " news " .... once that is done I'm on my merry way. I think alot of folks are the same way,. its just that others know each other a little better,. & probably have more in common I guess, hell I don't know,. My opinion,.. this is a cool site but no one should be judged by what they say or what they post,. where everything is pointed out what is wrong with anything that the posts concern,. to avoid all the BS I just don't bother posting....if I see someone is looking for something I'll send a Pm but that is about it,. I DO NOT POST ENTIRELY FOR PROFIT OR JUST WANTIN' TO SELL,. SELL, SELL,. Ebay is just easier to deal with........ Good Post Ken....

Good post...I agree...and if the time comes where I have to take a stand I will but I think the guidelines that I ask everyone to abide by is enough. I don't see too much of a problem with personal issues...the majority of the bashing on here is towards drivers and diecast manufacturers.

Just a few things to clarify. In this post, I was in no way being critical of this site, or even the members. And I mean ALL of us. It was an observation of OUR behavior as a whole in the last few months, and in some of OUR cases, maybe even a little longer. We are venting when we should be being constructive. MYSELF included.
Hamlin08. Your opinions are as valued as anybody else's on this great site. Post as you want, and do not feel as if you are being singled out, or being ignored.
1Bob29, you have obviously missed the point, and I will not restate it as I made it as clear as I possibly can.
I have great affection for all of the members I have met through this wonderful place. I am merely making the statement that we need to take a step back, re-assess what we are about to say, check the words and how it will effect others, then proceed. Have a great day Ya'll..............I DO LOVE IT HERE.....

WELL said Ken. Bravo. Too bad some people are too dumb to understand the point...Er, wait, let me rephrase that. It is unfortunate these concepts are on a higher level then the intellect of some of our esteemed associates on this forum.

I recently put one of the long time members on my block list, because of the fact that everything he posts is whining about something. I don't need to read that crap. And so, I don't. (and before anyone starts guessing-it is NOT Karl or Heath, despite the fact that we have gone at it in the last 6 months)

Ken, your post should be required reading for all new members.

Ffighter,I think this is a great blog. I have met some really great people and it is sad because mostly they have become very quiet. Most don't post because of some of the anger in the posts....and some are just too ridiulous or dirty for dirty's sake. Thanks for speaking out.

I'll put money down that a lot of people are feeling the pinch of the bad economy as well as a lack of work. Personally it's been very tough for me to hold my thoughts in check, but I'm going to make a stronger effort not to flame someone.

That's what I'm thinking. We are all under undue pressures and none of us can even begin to understand what the others are going through. All I'm saying is we all need to either, really say what is on our minds and not vent on something totally unrelated to it just to make ourselves feel better, and try really hard to be more understanding of each other.
We ARE a family here, so open up and let us know what the problems REALLY are. We may be able to help, and if nothing else, it helps to get your problems off of your chest.
