Default Cleveland auto show

On Wed. 3/4 at the Cleveland auto show, there will be four autograph guests on NASCAR Day:

Chevy; Clint bowyer

Ford: Matt Kenseth, Colin Braun

Dodge; AJ Allmendinger

they will be signing at their respective car manufacturers' booths from 4:30 to 6:30 PM.

Is there anyone around the C-land area going?

Alex

Here's the full report:

The trip was over three hours long and I just got out of the car when bad news appeared when I walked in the show:

Colin Braun was not going to be at the show today.

OK...I didn't have anything him to sign, so that's a wash. But the others did show up as expected, with Eric Darnell to be Braun's replacement.

You had to feel bad for Eric; last minute replacement, no big pieces to sign (other than two tires that were going around the floor), shoot, he even only had a stack of hero cards half the amount of AJ's. But he was a trooper and signed a hero card for me:

Then I got Matt's auto on this '06 TC Dewalt:

Then off to AJ's booth. I know, I shoud've went to Clint, but (1) I've already had him on a diecast, (2) I had more $$$ into AJ's car than Clint's, and (3) I didn't have to backtrack around the show for AJ.

He signed two things for me:

Then I went to Clint's booth. He remembered me from the Dayton Auto Show in '06 (the silver Sharpie) thanked me for coming back to see him, and signed this beauty...apologies for the bad lighting; the auto is 100x better than the pic.

I also got two packs of the Dodge Challenger set from the Auto Show. Both are the same packs though...(9-16) very popular package for me...old school cardboard AND gum. I gotta get a set off Ebay. If anyone wants either of my packages (both are opened--didn't know that they were the same set) LMK.

Alex

Sounds like a good time was had by all. The show totally slipped my mind. I wanted to go and get AJ ta sign my two Red Bull cars of his. Maybe some other time huh? Glad it went well!

Best line I heard at the show:

As I got my Red Bull diecast ready for AJ for sign, I pulled out a trading card for AJ to sign for a kid in line. A young lady, who was new to NASCAR collecting, exclaimed:

"I didn't know that AJ had cards, let alone diecast!"

Even AJ had a crap eating grin on his face...gotta love the NASCAR noobies.
