Driver(s): David Reutimann, Trevor Bayne, and Darrell Wallace Jr. | I've only ever gotten autographs from Reutimann. Nice guy, he'll talk to you if you strike up a conversation. I asked him before the July Daytona race in 2009 how the Shelby Mustang that MWR co-owner Kauffman gave him and he got a huge grin on his face and said it was "NICE". I'm hoping I'll get to Daytona in time next year to get my TUMS Chicagoland win custom signed.

Driver(s): Jeff Gordon, Elliott Sadler, Martin Truex Jr., Aric Almirola, James Beuscher, Johnny Sauter | Drivers I have met. Kasey Kahne - Super Nice when i met him, even called me little dude. Johnny Sauter- Many give him negative feedback but he was very nice to me he was starting 4th that day and I said who is the better Sauter brother. He laughed and said I am. Bill Elliott-This may seem bad but he is actually the worst driver i had met actually, though i think it was my fault. It was a couple minutes before the drivers meeting and i could have made him go to the rear. Elliott Sadler - Was by far the best, not because im a Sadler fan but he actually took time to sign autographs with the fans and he signed many hero cards, hats and diecasts. His crew chief, I belive it was Rodney Childers. Scott Speed- Nice even with a cold. He was sick that day and Almirola filled in for him. I said good luck to him and i screwed his life up, Bad day, lost ride, ect. David Reutimann, many knows on here how it went, good, signed my hat. My friend got to meet him at the track walk @ Fontana in March. She said he was super friendly and nice. He was out there walking and talking to everyone. He's a funny guy and was telling jokes and laughing. She was not a fan of his beofre that day but now really likes him. Wish I would've gone with her but I was lazy and didn't want to get up that early and walk in the rain. lol

You are absolutely right on that one. It really hurts, especially for those of us that live in the metroplex. As there is no where for us to pick up NASCAR Diecast. | Super CraZy Feedback: 11 reviews Photo Albums | Classified Ads Name: Mario Pancino Age: 37 Location: Fairfield, OH Fav. Driver(s): Robby Gordon, Harry Gant, Juan Pablo Montoya | I have been fortunate to meet a few drivers when I lived in South Carolina and California. The majority of the experiences were very positive and the few that were not were not exactly the fault of the driver (except for 1 in my opinion). Here is what I can remember off the top of my head: Harry Gant - Was supposed to sign at Summerville Speedway the night before the 1992 Southern 500, but couldn't fly out of Darlington due to fog. The track told us what happened and asked us to write our names and addresses down on a sheet of paper they had and they would give it to Harry so he could send us a signed picture or autograph card through the mail. Instead of doing that, Harry rescheduled the appearance a few weeks later and came down to Summerville and signed for the fans. I had him sign a can of Skoal Bandits (which I still have to this day...can barely see the autograph since at the time I don't think Sharpie had come out with the silver Sharpie, so it is a black autograph on a dark green can). He didn't have to reschedule the appearance, but I was stoked that he did since he was, and still is, my favorite driver of all time. ![]() Kyle Petty - Was signing at a local Piggly Wiggly around 1992 and my dad and I went to get his autograph. We got there kinda late since we found out about it shortly before the session began and when we finally got to the front of the line, his "goons" said "no more autographs, Kyle needs to get to his next autograph session across town". Kyle looked up, saw my dad wearing a Richard Petty t-shirt and me with a disappointed look on my face while my dad asked the "goon" where the next signing was at and said (while point at my dad and I) "those are the last 2." Again, he didn't have to do that, but he did. Sterling Marlin - Was signing at the Publix Supermarkets that I worked at before the 1996 Southern 500 and was very nice when I walked up to get his autograph (there was like noone in line at the time). Ricky Craven - Was signing at a local country club (Desperado's if I remember right) and he was supposed to sign at a private meet and greet that fans won the right to go to through one of the local country stations for about 1/2 an hour and then spend the next 2 to 2 1/2 hours signing for the fans who were standing in line. I had gotten there fairly early and was about the 40th person in line. Ricky showed up, was shuttled to the private meet and greet and spent over an hour in the private meet and greet. By the time he got out to those of us who were standing in line (for now 2+ hours), we were told that he would only be signing for an hour because he had to get back on the plane and fly to another autograph signing and that we would only get 1 item signed. When I got to Ricky, he was not very friendly and appeared to me that he really didn't want to be there. Dick Trickle - Was signing at a local rv dealership in Charleston (Sonny's RV if I remember right) all day (it started at like 8 or 9 am and lasted until 5pm). It was either 1999 or 2000 (I forget). I went down with parents and nephew and niece around noon-1pm and got in line. At one point, he got up motioned for everyone to gather around and he talked about some of the stuff you could win if you bought raffle tickets (I didn't win anything) and how he brought several members from other teams down to grill hamburgers and hot dogs for the fans and when he sat back down, everyone got back in line where they were (there was no "rope corral" to keep people in a single file line). Mark Martin - Met him at an autograph signing at Joseph P. Riley Stadium (home of the Charleston Riverdogs Class A baseball team). I had my wisdom teeth taken out earlier in the week and wasn't feeling all that great, but I went with my dad anyways. Mark was a little late getting there and his "goons" rushed people through the line as fast as they could. They told us Mark would sign only one item and there was no stopping for pictures. From the time I got close enough to see Mark, he was keeping his head down and signing as fast as they were putting items in front of him. He never looked up, even when I (and other people) would wish him luck or express how big of a fan they were of his. This not so great experience, in my opinion, wasn't his fault. Robby Gordon - I have met him around 8 or 9 times (just a rough guess) from 2003 to 2009. Every time he has been awesome. The first time I met him was at Irwindale Speedway the week after he won at Sonoma where I had him sign a NASCAR bowling pin I got from bowling in a NASCAR Bowling Club. He got there late for the tracks on-track autograph session (traffic) but he signed for every fan in line and the track did a great job of getting everyone through in a timely fashion while still allowing for small talk and pictures (they still had to get the races going and finished by their curfew). ![]() I met him again in 2006 at California Speedway where I had him sign a Cows on Parade "NASCow" that was red with flames and the #7 on it. When I handed it to him, he laughed, said he wanted one, and then proceeded to tell me a story from his CART days. When he did that it was like it was just he and I in a one-on-one situation. It was awesome. ![]() ![]() The last time I met him was at Auto Club Speedway in October 2009. My dad had passed away that April and I had moved to Ohio (as did my mom) to be closer to my sister and her family. Since I was a season ticket holder at ACS, I still had my 3 tickets to the Cup race in October (I always bought my mom and dad a ticket). So, I knew my dad would want my mom and I to go to the race, so we got flights out to California and the one thing I wanted to do was to get Robby to sign my dad's unused ticket. While waiting behind his souviner hauler, I was right by the door when Robby came in and he shook my hand and smiled at me. When I got around to the front for my autograph, I explained that my dad had passed away 6 months earlier, that my dad was a fan of his, and that he was signing my dad's ticket for that race. He stopped, looked at me, and said "I am sorry to hear about your dad." I walked away from his hauler with tears in my eyes for more than one reason. ![]() Tony Stewart - Was signing at Irwindale Speedway before the Turkey Night Grand Prix (one of the few times he did the on-track autograph session). There was no order to getting Tony's autograph. Everyone had formed a half circle around Tony and his midget car and everyone was pushing their way to Tony. Now, I am not a small guy by any means (6'6" around 285lbs at the time), but the crowd behind me was very pushy and it took all of my size and power to keep from getting pushed onto a little girl (all of maybe 5 or 6 years old) that was standing next to her dad in front of me. Tony was very nice when I got to him, even pushing items away from "fans" who were thrusting them into his face as he was trying to sign something for a little kid and talk to them for a second (including the little girl in front of me). The "fans" (and I used that term very loosely) that were trying to push their way to Tony were complete jackasses. They didn't care if they knocked over little kids. Another Tony story involves my mom. He was signing at the local Home Depot store just down the street from where they lived and I wanted to go, but to get a wristband, you had to be there by a certain time and it just happened to be in the middle of the afternoon, while I was working, plus I was bowling that night and it was an important position round night, so I asked my mom to take my NASCAR bowling pin down to get his autograph. When she got home, she said she had another driver who was there as well sign the pin, but didn't know who it was (she watches racing, but doesn't know all the players...it was JJ Yeley). Anyways, she said that Tony was very nice and even laughed when she handed him the bowling pin. ![]() I will quit boring y'all with my stories, and I am sure there are other stories I will remember later.
